Worked for me. Once the program ran its course I was getting a message saying i needed to install a boot drive. I just went into my bios and switched my boot to UEFI only and it booted windows. Great tutorial. Thanks

It worked fine for me, the only thing I had to do after the conversion was to enable UEFI mode in bios. After that, windows 10 ran booted without any problems. Thanks a lot!

Hi, one question please, to perform this operation the drive to convert from MBR to GPT need to be compulsory the main operating system in the computer or can I convert another different SSD drive with a brand new Windows 10 installed which have been cloned or made with Samsung migration program using the main operating system installed as the source? thank you very much

Great video even fixed after trying to manually swap it to GPT and fixed disc, layout validation failed for disc one code. Whole process took me about two minutes running a decent gaming rig. Thank you so much for the help, going into the bios, and gonna turn on safe boot!

This is great, worked smoothly and with no issues, I have all my data. I just checked if my PC is available for W11 upgrade and according to Comnputer Health Condition Checker it is, but Windows Update shows me it is not :/

I bought a new notebook (Windows 10, NVME-SSD, UEFI) and have been trying for a month now and then in vain to migrate the system hard drive of my old notebook (Windows 10, M.2-SSD, Legacy) to the des to clone new ones. After unsuccessful attempts with Acronis, Haslo WinToHDD and Samsung Data Migration (always get a blue screen with "Error code: 0xc0000001") I don't know what to do anymore. I read online that reformatting the new hard drive from MBR to GPT before removing it from the external enclosure and installing it in the new machine can help. Is that correct or what alternative program to that cloning would be recommended? May Paragon Partition Manager Community Edition do the trick?

@@nathanflacke5904 on my pc it says that i need to enable bitlocker in order to completely enable secure boot, havent tried myself but you could try with that (if you are going that way make sure to always make a physical copy of your bitlocker key)

After I did this my pc said “no bootable devices found” and the fix to it is to go into BIOS and enable UEFI. It wouldn’t let me enable UEFI until doing this trick. Thanks for the video!!

If it failed and u got it back and did it again on ur device,I recommend you Create a recovery media, To do this Follow my steps: First Go To Search Type Create a recovery And select create a recovery drive select your USB/CD/DVD And wait until it finishes and then if it fails boot into it,select Your STratup Menu go to troubleshoot and look for Recover And your files will be Back. NOTE:Select the box that says recover system files Or else your files may be deleted!

Hey man I just solved it. Had the same issue. Went into control panel and created a new power plan. Told it to tell the power button to make it shut down even though it was already on that. Pressed Apply and it's all good!

Hi. I have ASRock AB350M with Ryzen CPU: 7 1700. BIOS shows 'legacy only' currently. It also show UEFI only if I enable it but it will appear 'shell' after restart. I'm here asking if your video will work without switch bios itself? Or, should I upgrade the CPU like 7 3700x? Please help. Thank you for your time.

Go to BIOS and boot from your original Drive. Mine kind of failed me if I left it to load, I had to re-apply my boot drive after this process. He's a genius

Oh... I tried this and it broke my computer. I restarted it as said by the software, but at some point the Paragon text said "EXCEPTION!" and after that it blue screened everytime I turned it on. I don't know what went wrong. Thankfully I saved the important files, so, no biggie, but now I have to either try and fix it with the MediaCreationTool or format it. Sad times.

I just want to point out to those who watch the video and follow the steps that after restarting the computer the first time, it will boot for the second time, but for those who had legasy mode, the system will not boot. You must enter the BIOS and change from legasy to uefi. After that, save the settings. The computer will shut down. my regards ❤❤

I was about to do this conversion - but it had a warning saying of this is a drive with an OS on it will make the drive un-bootable. I didn't catch that from the instructions or comments. I did see the part about having to change some BIOS settings to UEFI, but un-bootable ???

it was going perfect but then i had a black screen and it told me something like "reboot and select proper boot device" and i couldnt do anything, i just went to bios settings and changed it to default settings and after 30 minutes of fighting i finally got uefi settings! i can say that this helped with some troubles haha!

This procedure, only change your Partition squeme from mbr to gpt. It will Not make your old BIOS to an actual uefi Partition.

After much searching and viewing, I finally stumble on ANSWERS! I was so worried about losing my programs…..😧 Thanks!! What does your ‘c’ drive partition(s) look like after?? Does PM convert all attached drives at the same time?? I have a Dell XPS 8930 in Legacy mode. Bios shows grayed out TPM and ability to switch to UEFI. Don’t know if I can flash TPM yet or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated !! Thanks again. 👍👍

Had issue with games, such as csgo on faceit and valorant, needed to turn on safe boot and off csm or cms at bios. And had mbr type, did everything as mentioned in this video, helped. Recomend! Also after all had blue screen, but tried to restart pc, and everything works just fine, all data saved, thx a lot for this tutorial.

exactly brother i just started playing valorant in a laptop having win 10 and after sometime i installed and played some matches in another laptop which has win 11.....now, i dont know this error was the reason i recently played on another laptop having win 11 but when i open valorant in the before laptop having win 10, it now showed "van:restricted.....smth secure boot need to be enabled"......while this was not hapening before i used the laptop but now it does...so i am now tring to change to uefi from legacy....hope this tutorial helps

Perfect video been having this issue couldn't play valorent as it needed change and my system was not changing without hidding the drives to boot windows A520 amd motherboard could only use CSM

Asking some question 1. Is the drive c formatted? 2. Can pc build up do the convertion from get go? 3. Windows will not be reinstalled using the converter program?

Sir I did this to my pc . I partitioned my ssd where my files are in not in my new hdd . after all it is successfuly converted to uefi . but after it boot up it wont restart or shutdown . what happen here sir pls help

No automatic reset I don't know how to do reset. Here writing reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and any a key .now don't reset. Now many problem give me solution

I tried and it worked. The importance of watching the tutorial until the end👍. Make sure your computer supports UEFI. If it doesn't support UEFI, don't try it

I have one lappy whose motherboard support only Legacy (MBR partition). If I clone UEFI HDD (GPT partition) to SSD and put that SSD in my laptop to boot, will it boot?

Kadwasuch: No, Directly Cloning A UEFI HDD (GPT Partition) To An SSD And Putting It In Your Legacy (MBR Partition) Motherboard Will Not Boot Successfully. Because Legacy Systems Don't Understand GPT, The Partition Table Format Used By The UEFI HDD. The Motherboard Won't Recognize The Partition Layout Of The Cloned SSD, Making It Unable To Find The Bootable Data. Solution: Convert The UEFI HDD To MBR Before Cloning By Using Any Of Your Preferred Application.
