Thank you. I didn't know if I could find a basic microwave way of cooking asparagus. I wanted easy plain vegies. No extra calories from butter or oil, or items I'd have to go out and buy. You came through.

Thank you. Asparagus is my favorite veggies but couldn't really figure out cooking it in the microwave. Suggestion: don't trash the ends of your veggies ... stock pot

Update. This was the most amazing tasting asparagus I ever had. It was perfect. Usually my asparagus comes out chewy, but this method made it come out great. I'll be doing this for now on. I had some butter and pink himalayan salt on mine. It was delicious. Thanks again!

I feel the container before grabbing it, and sometimes it's really hot and sometimes it's not :) This one happened to be cool enough to handle, but don't risk it and use a towel or oven mittens!

How did you use Pyrex with a Lid? Pyrex Plastic Lid always becomes useless in the microwave. Thanks

@@MelanieCooksRecipes Thanks - I am trying to duplicate that / your red dish - how many inches long is that and is the top red cover plastic? Also could I also cook zucchini sorta-kinda-sorta the same way. Single guys don't cook like experts like yourself. I will go to Amazon after you tell me HOW big / long the dish is. Are most Pyrex dishes - microwave safe?

It's 2.75 qt, 9x7 inches, red lid is plastic, all Pyrex dishes are microwave safe as far as I know.

Asparagus went in the microwave raw and came out cooked, so how’s that not cooking? 😉

If we have 2 ends of the 'Cooking spectrum' (or at least what some may call 'cooking') one end being putting a pizza in the oven and the other end being making lasagne (the pasta sheets in it, dare I say even blitzing your own tomatoes and mincing the beef!!?) from scratch, this is definitely nearer the pizza in the oven end. Melanie, don't take offence, you look nice in your apron!
