John.....I made these tonight with my Foodi for my wife and I, and they were EXCELLENT! The only thing I did differently is that we don't like ours with sauce, so while they were resting, she sprinkled hers with lemon pepper and I sprinkled mine with a cajun spice. The wings plus curly fries from my Breville.....mmm mmm good!

I finally bought my wife a Foodi for Christmas (of course, I have used it as much as she has) and I love doing wings in there! By steaming/pressure cooking first (I just steam because I don't use frozen wings), the fat renders off and drips into the pan then the air fry gives that nice crunch without the need for grease. I won't go so far as to say that they are heathy because they still have all of that skin but they are far less unhealthy than what you would buy at a sports bar and they are absolutely amazing!

Hi Jelly007 - I'm a FOODI Firstimer. I picked up a 10 lbs bag of wings at Costco, and I followed your recipe to the "T." I made 3 batches. With each batch, I increased the cooking time, looking for the perfect crisp. I found it at 25 minutes. I like mine extra-crispy. You're right, "The Sauce is Boss." Thanks for the video. Keep on cooking!!!

Hey John, after a year and a half or so food started sticking to the fry basket and the coating started peeling off. So, I ordered a new one. And I had to return to your video so I could make some chicken wings. The wife loves the lemon pepper type. You mentioned letting them sit for a while before eating them so that they could take on more flavor and you were right that was a great tip. The wife said that was some of the best I have ever made.

I did basically the same thing for lunch today, but used a frozen boneless, skinless chicken thigh instead. I don't do sauces on my chicken, so after steaming it, pouring out the liquid, and drying the thigh, I just sprinkled some homemade cajun spice on it, then air fried for 7 and 8 minutes, checked the internal temperature, removed, rested and ate......it was WONDERFUL! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. BTW.....I joined a Facebook Foodi group, and when someone asks how to cook something, I check to see if you have a video for it, then I share your link with them......you da man!

I also get the breaded chicken tenders at Sam’s Club. 15 minutes from frozen under the Bake function at 360 F. When I do potatoes under pressure, I just run the Pressure Crisp for a minute to air dry them, then lift the lid and spray them with the oil and close the lid to finish. The only thing I do different. These look great and are probably cheaper than the breaded chicken. I like the look of the controls on this new Foodi. The only thing they forgot is an espresso basket on the side so you can pressure it up and make some coffee. 😄😄😄

Hi John, thank you for the demonstration. It's very helpful since we are considering getting one of this model. One question that I hope you can help me answering is that does the air crying lid get hot after air frying for a while? I saw a video comparing the original model and the deluxe model. The host in that video commented that the air frying lid gets hot over 100 F after air frying while the original model's lid stays around 78 F. Also, she also said that the lid feels "cheap" on the deluxe compared to the original, and not as well made as the original model. I'd like to hear your view on that, please. Thank you very much!
@JohnSanders3 жыл бұрын
I honestly am not sure of the exact temps of both lids but they both get warm when air frying but nothing I would call alarming and I personally like the look and feel of the deluxe... just my opinion though...thanks for watching!!!

@enia24354 жыл бұрын
Hi John. That's another great video of yours. One question: Here in Germany, there are also frozen chicken wings that come already seasoned. I do not pressure cook them first, but only use the air crips option for about 18 minutes on 180-185° Celsius (approx. 360° F). They come out perfectly. Do you think, it's really necessary to cook them first? Have you ever tried just to air fry, using slightly lower temperature and bit more frying time?
@JohnSanders4 жыл бұрын
I do have videos of air frying wings from frozen and it works really well... however... in the United States the ones that are preseasoned and are also frozen are usually and almost always already cooked... they just require reheating... nothing wrong with those kind but I usually season my wings myself... but...i would love to come to your country and try anything y'all have...lol... and maybe one day I can!!! Thank you for watching!!!

Just wondering if you can do wings from frozen in the Ninja Foodi Grill. Didn't see it in the manual but would be great if you could try that next for wings recipe. Thanks

Wait. I haven’t watched the video yet. I have a lot to watch. Haven’t been on in a few weeks! But I was reading the comments and am I reading right? There’s a new model??? Omg. Just like the darn die cast machines. I always have to have the new models. 😕
@JohnSanders5 жыл бұрын
Yes... brand new FD402 and I'm the guy that has to have every new model that comes out... it's a condition I have so I know how you feel LOL... thanks for watching!!!

Tried this just now. Wings did not come out that brown and crispy Next time I’ll just throw them wings on the grill.

So I dont need oil
@JohnSanders3 жыл бұрын
No... you can put it on there though before air frying but you don't have to...thanks for watching!!!
@pchris34375 жыл бұрын
After pressure cooking, can't you just poor the liquid out, and throw the wings in the inner pot, instead of the basket, and airfry? Then instead of taking them out and using the tupperware, (more stuff to wash), just throw the seasonings and sauce and stir it around??
@JohnSanders5 жыл бұрын
Yes, you could put it all in the inner pot at the end and eliminate one extra thing to wash but the basket helps a lot with air frying and I would definitely use it when air frying... thank you for watching!!!
@TT-de7wb4 жыл бұрын
I would say no - you need the basket as the point of air frying is the air needs to circulate all around the food to cook it evenly.

I didn't have the same result with these same wings in the oven... maybe with the pre cooked ones... but it has been a long time since I've done that too... sorry you feel that way though... but thanks for watching
