2:36 Raw eggs?

In this video, we’re going to talk about how you can cook eggs for the maximum amount of antioxidant nutrients.
I’m primarily focusing on two powerful compounds called lutein and zeaxanthin. These two carotenoids are found in vegetables, egg yolk, shrimp, lobster, salmon, and avocados.
Lutein and zeaxanthin mostly accumulate in the eyes. They can help reduce the risk of macular degeneration and cataracts.
As a side note, to further reduce your risk of these issues, avoid inflammatory oils, including vegetable oils, soy oil, corn oil, cottonseed oil, and canola oil. These can cause a lot of free radical damage that destroys healthy tissue.
Lutein and zeaxanthin help the eyes by:
• Filtering out blue light
• Reducing inflammation
• lowering free radicle damage
The best way to preserve the vital nutrients in your eggs is to cook them with a runny yolk. The less you heat the yolk, the more nutrients they contain. Try not to overcook hard-boiled eggs. If you scramble your eggs, try not to cook them too much.
The problem with raw eggs is that the uncooked egg whites can deplete other nutrients like biotin. So always cook the whites, but leave the yolk runny.
Always choose pasture-raised, organic eggs.

HUGE egg tip - you can thank me later 😊 When scrambling your eggs don’t pre-scramble in a bowl… Crack your eggs directly into the pan so they appear sunny side up… when the whites have turned white THEN scramble the yolks in while turning the heat down. This way avoids excessive heat to the nutrients in the yolks and they will always be moist! Absolutely the best tasting scrambled eggs you’ve ever eaten (I add a little smoked paprika, small cut veggies, a dash of oregano, very light garlic salt and pepper). Serve with 1 slice of crisp whole wheat toast. Happy and healthy 💯

I'm an animal scientist. I've been recommending softly cooked eggs for people's pet's for years as a less expensive protein and fat boost to a kibble diet. They want to give raw because it's less hassle, so I explain about avidin in the egg white that binds biotin and eventually causes skin, nail and hair problems (among others).

If you're careful when you scramble eggs, you can actually scramble the whites with a small spatula as the yolks just sit there, so the whites will cook more quickly. When the whites are done, you can remove the pan from the heat and scramble them in with the whites before plating. Saw this in a youtube video, and I've been doing it this way ever since.

I'm 60yrs old, 5'1 & always yo-yoing from 140 to 160lbs, I have always been a healthy eater, but at times nothing seems to help, even while taking levothyroxine, & I refuse to go up on the dosage! but I keep going hoping that one day I can find the magic solution for a better thyroid, your videos really help! I read several articles on K 2 and have been eating 3 pasture eggs daily for about 6 months and liked white meat chicken but switched to dark meat ( for the K2) . I couldn’t take the K2 supplement, felt that is was causing heart rate problems. I purchased an egg poacher, skillet style, at a yard sale. The eggs taste much better, easy to cook with slightly runny egg. No oils as in scrambled and have developed a preference for poached eggs now. By the way , lost 60 pounds with same amount of exercise and no “ dieting”. A different Dr. Berg video, and no longer taking medication for gerd.

I like cooking eggs "soft boiled," in the Instant Pot on low pressure just long enough so that white is cooked, but the yolk is runny. That can be 4-to-6 minutes, depending on a lot of factors. I find I like these more than "poached," because it can be hard to get the white to set without setting the yolk too much.

Hi Dr Breg, Can you do a video on which supplements you have to be careful not to take too much of? I know potassium can be dangerous in large quantities but that it's also important in energy production. I have done a foundation of vitamins and minerals and trace minerals to restore general wellbeing and I felt the benefits but what do I need to be careful not to take too much of?

Omg, when I started watching Dr. Berg he had about 700k subscribers which I thought it was a lot. That was about couple years ago. Look at his subscribers now, over 4m. Nice going Dr. Berg! and thank you for all these helpful and informative videos. I’ve learned so much. I just wish I could stick to your advice 😬 We do try to eat healthy and eliminate processed foods as much as possible, but sometimes we “fall of the wagon”. Last year we did semi keto for about 3 months and we both lost weight, improved our cholesterol and blood pressure numbers among other. This year is another story. Summer was okay, we biked and walked almost every day, but now with low temps, wind and rain it’s hard, kind of stuck at home and boredom is setting in, and we tend to eat more, so maybe a road trip somewhere would do us good. Will we ever be able to get back to normal? Anyway, thanks again Dr. Berg and keep bringing us these invaluable videos 👍 I try to share them on FB with others but I may get a couple likes, that’s all. I guess some don’t want to learn, I guess. Maybe if they did there wouldn’t be so many obese and undernourished people in our country. Sad, just like our American SAD diet.

@Sean Phillips Dairy farmers have spent the past 40 years fighting the idea that butter is bad for you and raises your cholesterol propaganda. I have never seen dairy farmers disputing with egg producers. After decades of studies which found that fat, especially animal fat, is bad for you and makes you fat, we finally learned that the studies were paid for by the sugar industry. Now people distrust science but it should be industry lobbyists that are distrusted because they have only their own industry’s benefit in mind, not the interest of the general public.
