@@Sabbathissaturday Handful of the little things in life like losing a fried egg to a broken rock, having the whole stove tip over with another egg on it and I might add using heated steel wire for cooking thats probably not food grade, shit that tends to happen when you’re outside for any length of time … did you watch the video?

All this is a great work and art, it is worth a lot..... Thank you for the fact that more and more people are carried away by hiking romance, making people kinder. We don't see that so much on male channels doing the same sort of thing! good for you, I hope your channel grows to the level you want it to be. Good luck with every thing you do! PS, You have a lovely sounding laugh, which is some thing I have never had the opportunity to say to any male bushcraft presentor to date!

One of the great tragedies of my life was dropping a whole pot of noodles in tomato sauce on a rock somewhere in the Swedish mountains, after two weeks of hiking on VERY tight rations. My eyes still turn misty when I think about that noodlecovered piece of rock, haunting and taunting me 35 years down the line. If I could have only scraped it off, but it was too fundamentally mixed up with dry moss and other above-the-treeline debris, thinning out by the moment and dripping off into the oblivion of other rocks and boulders. There was so much of it. Like half a trangia pot full, and it was given to me by people, as hungry as me, who bizarrely could not abide tomato - so it was EXTRA above and beyond the scope of my own rations - a blessing from the fates, such sudden richness. I held it only so so briefly, fleeting and fragile as a whisper on the wind, and then the potholder gave out on me and it slipped … slipped forever … onto that one fateful rock which forever haunts my cursed dreams 😫 You only laugh about lost food if you’re on some kind of weekend outing of plenty!!! 😬😳😓

I'm always learning new things about bushcraft almost everytime I go out to the woods. A little word of advice from my own experience. Don't hammer your axe at all let alone with another axe. If you must hammer it for some reason, use a beater stick or something. That's a great way to damage or loosen the head of your axe.

Okay love the video, and the kababs looked great, I think I'm going to give that a try myself with a glaze or marinade, if I was going to cook with a rock I would test a couple rocks by "baking" the rocks before hand to remove excess moisture in the rocks and whichever ones make it are the ones without any moisture anymore and "shouldn't"crack like that when your cooking, slate is also an option

When I make a torch, after splitting the trunk into pieces I cut across the segments about 4 inches up, then when I splice down it leaves the last bit intact. When I wire the pieces together it leaves a ‘bottom’ in the middle of the torch, whereas your torch was completely hollow. Your torch had better air flow creating a bigger/better fire, mine has less creating a slower/longer burn time ( possibly/arguably better for cooking). Really enjoyed watching your video though, cooking in the woods with the rain falling, birds singing was epic, and your food looked great ( hope you have your own chickens, eggs are expensive these days) Thanks for posting 😁

😂 Yeah, like everyone else couldn’t help but comment… the yolk was on you! 😂 That was gold. And kudos for leaving it in, as your own laugh at the whole situation not only had ME in tears… but it was great to see a “fail” taken lightly! Prior to all that though, the project was a huge win. Obviously very nicely precut logs, but the execution was flawless. I also liked the practical use of charcoal to trace out an even square. For the most part not necessary, but it shows a practical tip most don’t think about. Good stuff kiddo. Really enjoyed this video. Stay at it. These skills are going to be necessary in the not too distant future I’m afraid… AAA++++ 😎
