I’m a regular on your website. I’m currently building my first kit and have all the wood for my first scratch build. I’m building up my arsenal of tools mostly based on your suggestions. So thank you, Yoav, for your very informative videos and content.

Hi Yoav, i really like your channel! It's quite a niche subject but you're one of the most informative channels about guitar building. I really like your low-cost approach which makes guitar-building a lot more relateable. Please keep up your work! Btw: your "metrically-challenged" pun is a really good one! I have to remember that.

Thanks @Roffl_Kartoffl 🙏 , I usually take the 'low cost' approach myself. Wish I could indulge in the high cost approach, but I am not there yet. and my playing sure isn't good enough for it.. you are welcome to use my puns.. 🤣🤣

As it turns out, there IS a guitar I would like to copy for which I cannot find plans so this was great! I'm definitely one of the "metrically challenged", I've never liked using it (I'm in England, btw). Looking forward to see what you do for GGBO '21

Thanks, @Peter Johnson, I am now intrigued to know which guitar it is. I grew up 'Metric' and I just can't understand the whole imperial system, it just makes no sense to me (and apparently to Nasa engineers). I'll still call a Strat 'a 25.5" scale',, but it doesn't give me a sense of size🤣

@@theelectricluthier1928 Hey Yoav, the guitar is a Gibson Corvus. Not to everyone's taste, but I always found it rather interesting. My version would probably be a bolt-on, as I already have the perfect neck for it, and single humbucker. I have an old Gibson "Dirty Fingers" pickup just waiting to be installed in something like this. As for the Metric system, yes we do use it here in Britain, but I grew up with Imperial measurements and continued to use them throughout my life (I'm 61). Just like you, but in the opposite way, Metric gives me no sense of scale! That's for everything, not just distance. I think in pints and gallons, pounds and ounces. I measure my own weight in "stones" etc. You would have hated our monetary system - Pounds, shillings and pence - we went decimal in the early 70's but I still talk in old money just to confuse the youngsters. I get lots of mileage from that (pun intended)!!

@@peterjohnson4932 Nice choice. I was not familiar with this guitar. I think it's the only Gibson I have seen where the strings run straight to the tuners. I have seen one image showing without the pickguard and it looks pretty hollowed, so the body may be very light. I would keep an eye for 'neck dive' . There are plenty of good reference photos from many angles, so you should have no problem tracing and making your own. Good luck with that. As far as Gallons, I'll be happy to share a Pint any day.😉🍻

Im really looking forward to seeing how this build progresses. Im a very analogue person myself, so ive drawn up some plans using pencil and A0 paper. Not because i dont appreciate the cleverness of what youre doing, but because i like technical drawing...call me old fashioned (my missus does lol).

Thanks for the comment Andrew. 🙏 I love and appreciate analog tools, and for pure design purposes, I will often grab a pencil and block. If you are planning an original design you can easily do it on an A0 paper, and make your templates directly from that. However, digital design gives me a lot of tools and opportunities which will be very difficult to achieve otherwise. Look out for the #GGBO2021, where I will building and showcasing this guitar

This comes at the perfect time. I've been thinking of building a multiscale bass myself for years now and a few days ago i finally managed to comit to it. i have my scale and measurements for the neck done with fretfind2d but i was kinda clueless how to add my shape i was aiming for. Thanks a bunch Yoav, this surely will help a lot

Thanks for the comment. I am glad if this helps. Haven't seen it on a bass. What kind of scale lengths are you using?
@MightyGodlikeG

@@theelectricluthier1928 It totally does! I'm taking the dingwall basses as my inspiration, since they are propably the go to solution for downtuned heavy music, which is my cup of tea. I'm using a 34 to 37 inch scale length
