How to Copy or Clone Your SD Card | Retro Handhelds Tutorial

All of these retro handhelds come with really bad SD cards. The community always recommend changing them for more reputable ones. This is how you copy or clone your micro SD card to better more reputable SDs like Samsung & Sandisk. This is a really good solution for someone who is not comfortable with flashing firmware and sourcing games and bios files. This will make a perfect copy of the stock sd card your device comes with. Its really easy and really only take time for the program to do its job.
Applications:
Backing Up Your Data. All those precious save files. Keep them somewhere safe!! Like your PC!
Clone your Stock SD. This is great for beginners and people who aren't comfortable with flashing firmware and sourcing games etc.
Cloning your Amazing Builds. If you put so much work into making an amazing build, why not share it with your friends?
Important Note: Not all SD Cards are created equal. Please make sure to check the sizes of the the SD card you are copying and the one your copying to.

So here is my problem, the TF card contents won’t appear under its drive letter and you can’t access it. However you can view that the TF card has multiple partitions under disk management.

Amazing channel Javi! Question. I have rg35 xxh with a 512g card but would like to transfer partial files to a 256g for my rg35xx+, do you recommend cloning or just adding the folders separately? This will be the card 2 for roms. Thanks!

Thanks! I dont recommend cloning for this. The cloning will always clone the entire card so for this situation its better to copy the folders individually

Recently tried this with one of those gamesticks issue I'm running into is I copied the 64gb onto a Samsung 128gb but now when I try to move more games over to the new card it seems to be overwritten saying there's no space? Is there a way to fix this or is that a problem when copying am I just losing the extra space I have?

@@JaviPlayRetro I took your advice. I upgraded my R36S to a 64gb card, shoutout to your R36S guide! Now after reflashing and customizing a fresh 64gb card, I backed up the image and flashed it to a second backup card :)) ^o^

Do you have Google drive desktop app? If so exit the app if win32 won't open

How do you clone an OS card with multiple partitions that all come up as different devices in the win32 disk imager dropdown menu?

Just pick any one partition, and it will copy all of them. In the video, I copy the roms partition, but it will still read all of them.

If there a way to clone to a bigger SD card? Like If I have a 64gb Ambernic card but want to clone it to a 256gb card. Is that possible?

No its not possible. However you can clone the 64GB Anbernic Stock SD to another 64GB Sandisk or Samsung AND use the 256GB as TF2 and put more games on it. So its a win win

@turnbasedtoddy7664 Second SD needs to formated to FAT32 and then just put it into the handheld and turn it on. It will make folders for you. Then turn it off and you can put your games on it in the corresponding folders 📂

Hiii i got sf2000, it stoped working after 5 mins of game play. I managed to save the contents on my pc just copy n paste a back up of roms n game's. I got sandisk 64gb, formatted it to ex fat format then copy pasted the back up files. Is everything i am doing wrong?

Check the file system of the original sd card. Make sure its the same on the new one so you dont run into any issues

@JaviPlayRetro it was 34 gb no brand sd card. I am transferring to 64 gb sandisk. The file size in total was 14gb.

@Amlamekvids what im saying is if your coping the file make sure the new sd card file sysytem matches the old sd card. If its FAT32 make sure new one is FAT32. If its ExFAT make sure new one is ExFAT
