How to correctly wire a MECHMAN 370 AMP BILLET ALTERNATOR for 2014-2018 GM Trucks & SUV's

DESCRIPTION:
High Output 370 Amp Billet Alternator For 14-18 GM - Silverado, Sierra, Suburban, Tahoe, Escalade
Newly redesigned for 2020, The Elite series offers the highest possible amperage and durability available in a large case alternator. 6 phase technology combined with massive twin rectifier assemblies and 12 diodes makes these alternators totally durable for daily use, while still maintaining 200+ amps at engine idle speeds.
*******Also it comes in several different colors.*********
Installation Notes:
This unit comes equipped with a smaller 1.75 inch diameter alternator pulley, and will require a slightly shorter drive belt for proper belt tension.
**I used a GATES Fleet Runner belt (Part # K070709HD) on my 2017 GMC Sierra with the 6.2 L engine in the video and it works great!**
**For the wiring I used the KnuKonceptz Kolossus Fleks Kable 1/0 Red Power /Ground Wire**

Well I’ve done an incredible amount of research trying to figure out what I can do for my 2pin alt to get a consistent 14.4 and this is the very first time I’ve seen this magical 2 pin “trickery device” I’m calling mechman Tuesday and buying one of these.

Take a short socket just slightly larger than bushing, insert bolt through the selected socket, insert bolt/socket through bushing on the side you'd like to move it. Place washer small enough to touch bushing. Add the washer on the end of the bolt, add nut. Torque bushing out in about 5 turns.

I just bought a 370 for my Jeep Grand Cherokee. I emailed Tony with some questions (ok, a lot of questions) and he quickly responded and was super helpful. Seeing him in this video confirms my suspicion of him being a really good dude. Great video BTW. I also got some Knukoncept wire. How you liking it?

Hi Richard, I gotta say all the guys at Mechman were really nice to me even the owner Matt, he just seemed like a very humble down to earth kinda of guy and he even invited me over to his property to fish! :) Now Tony is a freaking hoot man he likes to laugh and have a good time and he is just an all around likeable guy and loves hot rods and is very informative! If he lived closer we would probably be close friends because we got along great! As far as the KnuKonceptz wire I love it because it's Tinned OFC with a high strand count and its really flexible, the best part is the price! The alternator is a freaking beast man. So I added a second alt to my Chevy truck, I was separating the system from the truck all together batteries and all.. so as I'm wiring up the alt, I hooked up the 12v switch wire and I wasn't getting nothing, come to find out you have to ground the alt to the truck if your gonna use a switch wire from the truck, so if you want to keep it all separate you have to run your switch wire from the battery that powers your system, not the truck... this was my first time using the harness so it was a learning curve for me lol

Will the 4 pin regulator also work on any 05+ gm? I have a 2018 Chevy Malibu with the 1.5L and a 2 pin alternator plug.

I went to their web page I didn't see the other two different plug, I just saw the one with the 12 volt wire. I have the 2 pin on my alternator. 2013 Chevy Tahoe LTZ

My brother purchased Mechman 300 Amp alternator for his Caprice $600, and it wont fit either of our chevys, its too bulky. Is there any way we can get an alternator that fits the current one belt setup, that we wont have to move the alternator somewhere else. We have late 80’s model vortecs. Both have 89 Caprices. Help. Plus they wanna charge him a restocking fee of he sends it back, we stuck with something we can’t even use. We don’t even care if we have to go with less powerful alternator, point us to one that fits. Thanks

Matt so if i use the bypass connector mechman gives me with the alternator (400 amp) do i still need to run the zero gage through the sensor loop coming of the battery ground? The video dose not specify after the bypass connection is made. Thanks

what size power wire and fuse is needed from alt to battery? i know he said 0 gauge but i read somewhere the max fuse size for 0 gauge is 325 amps

I have a question I have 2011 cadillac escalade just installed a mechman alternator 370. The four pin one wire out that came with the alternator. My wife told me the battery light came on what is the best fuse under the hood I should use right now I using hvac ing fuse you I should the ecm fuse spot instead. The first I installed the alternator with the trickery alternator piece 15 volts with no battery light. Today the battery came on. What can I do to make the battery light go off.

Hi bro I have an 2014 nissan altima and i see a free space in the engine, i want to put a second alternator, i was thinking about to put an mechman elite 400, this is for have the stock alternator for the electrical system of the car and the second alternator for my sound system. First of all... It's this possible? 🤣 How can i add an regulator for the second alternator? it's my daily use car and i don't want to burn my batteries in the trunk

I purchased this alternator through D4S & the guy who installed it for me says their is no bracket made for my year of my Silverado & it would have to be custom made. Any advice for this issue ?

Can you tell me which fuse was tapped for the regulator? My battery drains with the fuse I tapped, and I'm having a hard time finding one that's not constant

I have a stock 160amp alternator. And have 1000rms watt audio system. My check engine light came on. Code was p0690. Would that be because the audio system is pulling all the current from pmc?

Wow so I was having problems with my 2017 Impala with ( Battery saver active) ( Battery charging system) and I did a 320 amp Mechman and big 3 and the installer did not know to run the OGauge Thur the sensor! So pls help me out cause my vehicle is sitting due to him not running it right! Going to call mechman Monday…. Cause my installer saying the alternator is bad

I bought that 370 amp alternator 2 months ago and it was working fine until 2 days ago the battery charging system light came on, i spoke to Brandon from Mechman and he said the ground needs to be ran through that rcv sensor like you did. Did this work out for u? I dont know what to do, i cant even move my truck bc i dont wanna be stranded somewhere

@@bashns7743 I’m still having this issue but mechman said I’m having belt slipping, cause now if I’m just sitting at a red light it come on and sometimes it dnt so really dnt know! But they inform me to go that another smaller belt.

when I'm doing the second all the time 14.5 voltage setup, do i need to still run it through the voltage regulator loop? i have a 370 amp Mechman i bought last year for my 2007 Cadillac Escalade Esv but i have it set up the same but didn't run it through the battery current sensor but noticed I'm only getting 13.2 volts where my battery is always low or dead, i want at around 14.5 volts. i don't know where im going wrong at where i did i stall my mechman alternator with a 1 inch shorter belt then oem..
