As some others have said he parry is wonderful when they're up close and also his power crush still exists. I will occasionally try to throw a jab of my own and then buffer ff1+2. Another homing move no one mentions is uf4. It's actually safer at -5 and you can still parry and potentially side step after it. Utilizing all these tools in real time is difficult nonetheless and Noctis is still weak in close quarters. db1 tracks his left side and d2 tracks his right as well.

I've only played against noctis once and when I opened this video whilst matchmaking he appeared again. Maindaddyswe is sending me a message.

As a Noct player this improves my game plan and learning the weakness of my character

This video helps because I can't lab any DLC characters. Don't have the season pass or any DLC in general which is bs so I have to resort to youtube videos.

Take note that Noct can also use Warp Strike (f2) to close the distance fast if you try to back dash away from him a lot. It's safe so if you jab immediately after, he can parry that. Speaking of his parry, it's also a good tool to escape pressure as long as you don't abuse it where it becomes predictable.

Or you can just delete him from the roster, that's what I did. Every time I see Noctis (once every 100 online games),I quit the spamming bitch and move on to the next opponent. Works like a charm.

You should side step while you are far to but you shuold side step guard because you can still side step d/b 2 and because other moves are to slow you. Can side step guardy easily

this needs an update because i have been fighting noctis around fujin rank and i very rarely can win.. the only punishes i can do are 1,2,2 (feng) or 1,3... thats how safe this noctis is playing... or i guess thats how say his moves in general are...

It makes sense, long weapons like spears and lingswords lose effectiveness at very close range.

The sad thing about Noctis is that you can't play him without abusing his two key moves. You can't really rely on anything else and if your opponent can handle your d/b+1+2's and d/b+2's well, you're pretty much helpless. Not having a dick jab also hurts quite a lot.

The problem with always staying in Noctis' face though, is that once they use his parry on you, not only does the parry's strike smack you away, but he is also now perfectly setup for a free wr1+2

My cousin is a Noctis main and it is so triggering. On the bright side i get ample practice against this match-up. I'm starting to destroy him without breaking a sweat sometimes. I'm a Hwoarang main so he's getting practice against this match-up as well.

Great video! Here are other things you have to consider when playing Noctis: Noctis has a blade for every distance for experienced users. It depends on who uses him when you fight if they know how to use every blade and the teleport attacks and side steps you are in danger. He also has 2 hit diagonal slash that's high/low and a 5 hit slash combo you have to be patient for your counter attacks. The best players against him for me are Bob, Lee, and Dragnov if you know how to use them.
