Why the fondant always crack at the edge of the dummy? I'm using water to stick the fondant to the dummy

There’s a couple of things it could be. Your edges could be too sharp. You could try to soften the edge of the dummy with sandpaper…nothing drastic but just enough to take the sharp edge off….or You might be rolling the fondant too thin. If it’s neither one of those, then you could try to use crisco or some type of shortening like that to help the fondant adhere to the dummy instead of the water. Let me know if any of those options helped!! 💕

@@HamleyBakeShoppe how about the thickness of the fondant?

I would roll it 1/8” to 1/4” and see how that works. Also, if you’re dusting your work surface with powdered sugar or corn starch it can cause the fondant to get dry which can cause it to crack as well. Just knead in a little shortening to help soften up the fondant and keep it hydrated. If you add too much shortening it will make it super soft and hard to work with so less is more. Let me know if you have any other questions! I hope some of these tips will help!
