Thank you for the great suggestions! I do plan to create a tutorial on pictures in Word in the very near future. I'm not currently aware of how to get screenshots of pictures from PDFs with better resolution, but I will definitely look into that also. Thanks again!

Thank you so much for the helpful information My reference has multiple authors and whenever i cite it i get all the authors names how can i get the "et, al"?

Thank you for watching! Word should automatically add the "et al" when appropriate according to the style you selected. For example, if you choose APA 6, it should list all the authors the first time and then should use the et al. format the second time. Best of luck!

I did so, but word didn't add a new citation, just substituted the existing one!!!! Do u have an idea, please!!

Thank you for watching! I am not familiar with a direct way to add paragraphs to the in-text citations. However, if you right-click the citation and then select "Edit Citation" in the shortcut menu, you can then enter something like "Para 4" in the Pages text box in the Edit Citation dialog box. Word will then add that information to the end of the citation. Best of luck!

Thank you for watching my video! If you have multiple articles from the same author, you will have to create a separate source entry for each article. Then, when you choose the Insert Citation button, you should see the author's name listed multiple times with the article titles below the name, so you will know which one to choose. thank you for this video! is there any way to show in the text a citation of for example 4 authors with only the name of the first author et al., while still having all the 4 names in the reference list?

That is a great question! The formatting in the reference list is established by your chosen style (e.g., Chicago, APA, MLA). So, that style will determine the number of authors listed in the reference list before it defaults to "et al." If you choose to manually change the reference list, I recommend doing so after all the citations have been inserted because updating the citations can update the reference list. Thank you for watching! The et al is added automatically according to the rules of the style guide you selected (e.g., Chicago, APA, etc.). For most styles, the et al won't appear until after the first usage of the citation.

Can you please explain why do we mention page numbers in citation? What does the page number refer to?

Thank you for watching my video. The page number in the citation should be the page number in the cited source containing the information you are referencing in your own writing. Including the page number helps other people locate the information you referenced. Best of luck!

how can I organize multiple citations per alphabetic or chronological order with out deleting it and inserting them again. Is there a quick solution. For example, I have ( Smith, 2022; Ginger, 2018; Pearson, 2021) I want to have it ( Ginger, 2018; Pearson, 2021; Smith, 2022)

That is an interesting question! I am not aware of a way to change the order of the sources within the citations, other than to do so manually. If I find a solution, I will be sure to share it in a tutorial. I wish you all the best with your project!

for some reason, after i enter multiple citations, i cant edit the citation. the button is there but nothing happens when i click it

I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble. Although I can't be sure, there is a chance that your citations have become "locked." If it is possible to select the citation, you can try pressing Ctrl + Shift + f11 to see if it will unlock. Best of luck!

Same problem here, I click on the edit button but nothing happens, can't add the pages, big problem
