FINALLY- someone to help us with a non-Pro workaround. The numerous "high-ranking" vloggers who keep regurgitating the same thing. Unfortunately didn't work in my case. I create the post but after publishing and clicking edit with elementor, it won't bring out the page, it'll say error 404 page doesn't exist and something about debug mode that does nothing :(

Hi Mate New to WP. That plugin hasn't been updated in months and seems it's not compatible with the few last WP versions. Therefore the newer comments here are a bit confusing... Won't it break things? Do you know of an alternative?

Hey So I did test it about 3 weeks ago again and it was working fine still ( I wanted to trouble shoot someone's issue they were having) .. So although it isn't updated I can speculate that it doesn't need to as the WP hooks haven't changed .

Where did it go wrong for you? Maybe I can help you out quick because it really does work :) It Depends on how the Freelancer makes it.. If it was without any plugins then they probably had to custom code it, which takes a bit of time and effort.. Then you do get the others that like to milk people as much as possible unfortunately ..

Thanks for this video. Awesome info. I was able to install the plugin and create a post template, but after selecting it, my existing posts keep showing in the old template I was using before. Not sure what is going on. Thank you for any further advice.

Sorry to hear you having issues .. all I can think of is maybe it’s clashing with the theme ? So maybe the theme has hard coded template for that page ? I had tested it recently to make sure the video was still valid and it still worked for me ?!?

generally thats a corrupted file issue hey, perhaps resave your permalinks so that wordpress rewrites your .htaccess file , that normally would fix something like that..

lots of reasons for this.. Old OceanWP? Old Elementor? Old Version of php on your server? Server htaccess file corrupt ? another plugin thats old is conflicting.. I have retested this recently and it still works so I know your places to look are what I mentioned above..

After writing the title and publishing, when i click on Edit with elementor, it gives me an error “ error 404, the preview could not be loaded” tried several times but shows me same error, please let me know if you know the solution….

There are 2 things that can cause that.. Your .htaccess file is corrupt on the server.. to fix resave your permalinks or go into cPanel ( click on show dot files in the settings on top right ) and then just delete the file ( it will be auto created again .. If that doesn’t fix it then there is another plugin in the Wordpress install that’s dodgy and giving errors in Wordpress so you have to disable it ( disable some till things work smooth again to find the culprit )

My Elementor settings doesn't have a tab for Posts and also doesn't have an option for Post templates under the "My templates" section. Has this option been removed?

not sure I understand.. posts are a normal wordpress option on the left, if it isnt there then something on your site is hiding it.. If you mean the "Theme Builder" in this tutorial then there should be exactly where this tutorial is showing in my screen, if its not there I would lean again to there being another plugin thats giving a conflict..

How do I set H1, H2, H3, and other headings, as well as the table of contents, in the template when creating a new article? Currently, I have to manually set the H1 and H2 titles for each new post.

Just had a look now, didn't see there wasn't a HTML tag for H1 etc. in the template design .. was surprised about that missing feature... I dont have an answer thats a simple solution for that right now , will do research to see if there is a easy to enable fix...

Not sure about the theme, but you should check if your server's .htaccess file is ok and then also check to make sure your php settings in cPanel are not set too low.. Those have been whats stoping people in this tutorial..

Your server resources are too low, in cPanel go to your php settings and set things like memory limit and the other settings to higher values.. That will fix your issues :)

Everything went well until I got to the last step around 6:59. When I go to select the post content as “my example post content” then open up one of my posts it just looks like the element or free default settings.

Hi So I retested this video and see it does work as is..... SO lets see what could cause your issue.. First try to Regenerate the files of elementor. Go to Elementor, then tools. Regenerate the files and also the sync library. if this hasn't worked then there could be a naming issue, resave your post template with a different name and make sure the url (under the name) gets changed as well. Finally under Theme Builder , settings , posts : Make sure the Post Content is the new template name and resave. If all that doesn't work then its definitely your theme or some plugin that's stopping the template from showing..

Very strange.. In the Dashboard, go to Settings -> Discussions, have a look at these settings and make sure users are allowed to post to blog articles, sometimes this is unchecked.

@@the_mig everyhting set correctly , the theme you suggested only shows an icon and a number next to it , but there's no box for adding a new comment , i tried to logged out and view the blog as a guest , nothing changed.

If it’s just the plugins in this tutorial that’s installed in your site then have a look at “permalinks” and resave these as your .htaccess file might be corrupt , the other thing to look into is the php settings inside cPanel, things like php memory limit and a couple others might need to be raised ( defaults are generally set too low by hosts )

I'm pulling my hair out here. Please help if you can. I followed everything you said and then at the end there is no way for my template to be part of the posts. My guess is you have to have element or or something be the theme, which I absolutely will not do ever in my exitence. All I want is a post template. This should not be this hard. Please help me. Please advise.

I'm sorry to hear that you having all these issues... that's definitely the opposite point of why I'm creating this channel .. So if the steps where followed then the problem lies somewhere between another plugin causing a conflict OR the Theme used was coded badly and didn't have the proper WP hooks added as described in the wp best practices .. If you have tried experimenting with other themes (I've tested on the built in themes and it does work there as well) and did the whole turning off of plugins ritual to bug test, then hit me up directly and I'll hook you up with Elementor Pro - it uses a different hook system ( my mail is in the about me page of this channel - not allowed to give mail address in comments )

Hi this is a great video. However, I'm not sure if there has been some updating since this video was posted that effects the results. I followed you instructions to the T but somehow the post template I created (following your example, step by step) is only saved as a post and not as a template. I would start to see about conflicts .. Is it the theme you using causing it ( so I would try as a test with Hello or a standard WP theme ) If not What other plugins are giving issue and try deactivating them .. Lastly, someone here found a fix in his hosting ( its PHP was a beta version so he put it to 7.4 and everything worked again.. :)

I create a archive . And add a dummy content on it and publish. And setting archive content (page name) and I refresh the website . All the my past posts are gone and just dummy content show there every side . Every catagory please help if you are watching

Set the content to include the other categories that are not the dummy categories.. Post cant disappear unless you deleted them..

But when I watch your video and install theme builder plugin and archive a page and in which I include a heading . I'm watch your video bcz I don't have elementor pro that why I don't have access to condition where display. then I go to settings and archive content (page name that I made). And save . Then I refresh my website. Where my post shown here now only shown that's heading everywhere. And all my post gone and just this heading shown in their place . @@chwaqas947 If I'm understanding, you didnt finish making the archive page template, you just put a heading.. you would also have to use the archive widgets to build out he page completely.. HI If you have changed nothing in between then maybe have a look at any updates that might need to be done. Other than that , check to see if the plugin is still enabled , there shouldn't be any reason it doesn't kick in again

I had the same issue and I decided to create a new blog post. and in the post section at the bottom, you should see a new section: Theme Builder Custom Options. From there select the post template you created, saved and you'll see the changes

You will need a theme, you don't need to use a page builder outside of the included Gutenberg.. Wordpress is a CMS system only so you need a theme to represent the data within the CMS database, you can boilerplate it and kick it old school but at that point why use a CMS.. hope that helps !
