How to create a free website with Lightroom CC or Classic and Adobe Portfolio New Update

Adobe just updated their Portfolio connection with Lightroom CC and it is so easy to make a website in minutes. The web site I created in his video is here: www.photoserge.net
The workflow is as follow from Lightroom Classic
1. You Create a Collections for your portfolio in Lightroom Classic as you would usually do.
2. You synch these with Lightroom CC
3. In Lightroom CC you right-click and choose the option Save to portfolio
4. You go toportfolio.adobe.com/ and personnalise it.
Now any changes that you will make either in Lightroom CC and Classic can be updated on your website

I have LR classic and don’t want to install CC too. I did some googling and discovered you can use LR Web to do this too, you don’t have to use CC. I tried it and it works almost the same as what you showed. This is cool and I’m going to have to do it. Thanks!

Looked like a great way to get a website up for photography, so I put it on my "to do list". Now I've had a go and it looks to me like the images are limited to HD size (1920 pixels wide) when you go through Lightroom CC to load them. Direct upload (after exporting files from Lightroom) allows UHD, 3840 pixels in width. Serge, your example site seems to have 1920 width images. Do you confirm the limit? So while the Portfolio may be included in the Creative Cloud fee, and the Lightroom CC route is fairly easy, there is a price in image size.

Is there any downside to using the domain that Adobe provides for free compared to buying a domain name. I'm just starting, so if you think it's worth paying money for a domain then I would. Thanks, Kirk

This is really awesome, Serge. I’m just in the process of making my website but didn’t really want to put all my photos on it for selling purposes. But I really want to showcase all my many photos in galleries because I love them all. Are you telling me you can create a big gallery(s) in LR and then embed it in your own website?

Having issues with the Reset from Lightroom button, it says successful but sometimes doesn't add the new photos. I have made sure I added it to the album in LR. Have you seen this issue?

I've a problem when I need to publish my free websit portfolio, they said; you need to upgrad your free trial, but I don't suppose they would tell this, if the website is free?

Hi Serge, When I add a photo to my synced album, I can see it in my CC, but the change doesn't apply to the connection. In fact when I click the connection, the number it shows is the old number, and resetting the connection doesn't help. Have you had such issue and how did you fix it? deleting the page and "Share to" it again works, so my connection to portfolio is fine. It's just the albums in the connection don't get updated...

Hi Serge, I just tried to sync my LrC with my cloud but below my name plate I only get the Address Lookup and the Face detection options. I also verified that I logged with my Adobe account and I am. Do you know what should I do?

Hi Serge! Thanks a lot for this inspiring video - I made a site in less than 15 minutes! A question for you, if I can... How to update automatically a gallery on my portfolio/site? Let's say I have a collection in LR Classic with 5 images, so I have a corresponding album in LR CC and finally a gallery in portfolio with these 5 images. Let's say, then, that I add a new image to this collection in LR Classic; so the album in LR CC gets updated "automagically". My problem is that the corresponding gallery in portfolio won't get updated unless I do a "Reset from Lightroom"... and doing so make me lose all the customizations I made to my gallery. Is there a different method to update a gallery in portfolio? TIA!!!

they do the hosting and give you a domain name but you have to pay $12 per year if you want a personalized your domain name

Thank you for this inspiring video Serge! I got into a problem when doing as you advice: When I click "Share to -> Adobe Portfolio" I get this error message: "Photos Not Synced. Original photos must be synced to the cloud before publishing". The images are synced from Lr Classic to Lr CC, so I just don't get it :-(

On as many platform as possible using key words so people can see it on it can come up in google image! Like 500px, Flickr, Pinterest, etc...

Proof read your "About Me" page on photoserge.net. There is a sentence that needs to be fixed. You write "have have" when you only need one have. Just trying to help you out my friend. Love your videos and the presets I bought.

Tried to keep up but you go far too fast. Simply impossible to follow even when I keep pausing. From collections to Portfolio to Lightroom CC - just went to fast to understand. oh well.
