In this video, Master Florist Iris Pich of Flower Design School in Perth, Australia shows you a very cost and time effective way to create a Floral Wrist corsage using the Hot Glue Gun instead of using the wiring technique.
This is one of many ways to create a Wrist Corsage, but once you know that you can use the Gluing technique this effectively, you may want to try it out for yourself.

Lovely work. I was taught by the pros who taught me years ago to never use hot glue guns on most fresh products--that floral glue is better for glue down work like wristlets as long as you let them air dry before refrigeration (and give them a good spray with crowning glory). I am no longer in the industry, but still provide floral work for friends and family. I average 50 boutonniers and wristlets a year for proms and will usually have two or three weddings a year. Years of professional work have made me quick with the wiring so I still use that for weddings to give the mothers of brides/grooms the flexibility to pin on their dress or wear on wrists (I throw in the elastic wristlets with clamp plate and pearl headed pins in the clamshell for them to chose) . But for proms I always do glue downs unless the girl is wanting something elaborate. I mostly use spray roses for wristlets but have used every flower imaginable--even succulents. Using the glue gun sure would make the prom work faster and am considering giving it a try after seeing this. Thank you.

As a former florist, of years past, I seriously can’t imagine using a glue gun- seems like it would ruin the flowers and make them wilt. I’ve seen many things on KZfaq where they’re making wedding bouquets or even for example there was someone who was doing a 100 roses for an order and just cutting them and rolling them into this huge bouquet with tissue around the edges but no water source and of course it looked amazing but I’m thinking how many stems did he break doing that and by the time that’s delivered they will be wilted and by tomorrow whoever gets those won’t have very many roses left and whoever paid a lot for those will not be happy nor will the person who gets them. But all these great comments in the comment section- does no one thinks past a few hours? Anyways, a wrist corsage might be different and work- we just even had little water tubes for orchids. I don’t know- maybe make one and wear it to see.

I did 8 corsages using the hot glue gun method and I had problems with all, the flowers were falling off, or breaking away taking whatever was attached to it. They looked perfect and beautiful till they were worn.

Can we use low temp glue guns on fresh delicate flowers and greenery please?🤔

Yes, certainly. One can use cold glue, hot glue or low temperature hot glue gun setting, if available. All works fine.

I am curious about the results of hot glue versus cold glue?

Hi Carrie, Thanks for asking. The results are very similar and the end result would look very much the same. The cold glue just takes a bit longer to adhere, so it is more time consuming to assemble. The cold-glued design however would be able to be sprayed with water, without the fear of it dismantling, unlike hot-glued corsages. Once you use hot glue, you can't wet your design without running the risk of the glue peeling off. Hope this helps :)

Hot glue is not supposed to be used on fresh flowers, only cold glue. Hot glue will kill fresh flowers. At least that's the way I was taught.

Corsages made with hot glue for my son's wedding wilted within hours. Hideous.

Flower moxie suggest E6000 glue works better than hot or floral glue. Just needs to air out and dry before bagging & refrigerating.

@@beckyhaskin9698 are there certain flowers to stay away from ? I am not a florist but I've been tasked with making 5 wrist corsages for this Saturday. If I make them in the morning, and keep them in the fridge will they still be good Saturday night?

If anyone uses hot glue on fresh flowers, I assume they are not trained properly.

I followed your instructions and the corsages looked beautiful but they did not last once of the wrist. The flowers fell off despite which was embarrassing

Hi Ann, may I ask if you have had them made by a professional florist? There is a few things one needs to do to prepare the flowers to make them last better and only certain materials are going to be suitable for this technique. The orchids and other products I used in this video lasted over a week without looking much different at all :) Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions at all. Thank you
