I've really come to enjoy neurographic art and I'm finding more and more ways to incorporate it in my intuitive, abstract watercolor paintings. It's an easy way to practice mindfulness and it also helps me relax. I hope videos like this can encourage you to create a mindful creative practice of your own.

You can fix the clogging you described by completing all watercolor application and spray a sealant over it to protect from wetness. Dry then apply the marker treatment. With each media treatment you apply you layer to achieve a better result.

Love this piece! Neurographica helped me process grief over the loss of my beloved kitty, Peaches, last year. I’m so grateful for this technique for that purpose. I very much enjoyed your approach and looking forward to giving it a try. Blessings to you!

How awesome it is to create & meditate at the same time. And the added bonus is you've also created a truly SPECTACULAR painting/drawing.. It sorta reminds me of a fluid art painting but instead of pouring from a cup, you've painted/drawn it by hand. I'm really liking how this art turned out.

That's why I love to paint as much as I do!! It's my happy, zen place!! ☺️ I used to do fluid art quite a bit in the past - maybe this is where I get a lot of my inspiration though I never really thought of it before now. 🤔 Thank you so much for your kind words and for making the time to connect. ❤️🤗

I am just beginning my exploration of Neurographic Art, but there are a couple of things I have learned about the lines that define this art style. The first is that, as you are drawing them, neuro lines never have loops and they never move backwards (only forward). If you don't follow the few rules for drawing neurographic lines, then you can't really call it neurographic art. Instead you are producing abstract art with some of the characteristics of neuro art (such as rounding the corners produced by neurographic lines wherever they intersect). Just thought you might like to know, in case you hadn't yet discovered the "rules," and want to be authentic.
@gabrielleannacormierart
@gabrielleannacormierart 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing your perspective! 😊 I’m not much into following rules when it comes to creativity so this is definitely where I sway away from neurographic art. I’m also not an expert on that process (nor do I pretend to be) though I do appreciate and use many of its techniques. Most of the neurographic art I have seen out there doesn’t seem to be so strict on rules either or so it seems. I guess what matters most is that we are doing something we enjoy, in our own way, that releases stress. What makes a process mindful and relaxing to me is letting go of rules and following with my intuition. ❤️ I hope this message finds you well and wish you continued happiness in your creative journey. 😊

@@gabrielleannacormierart Thank you so much for your civil and enlightening response. I fully expected to be told to "mind my own business", lol. And, actually, I agree with what you've said. I personally think producing ANY art is a step in the right direction. I bet those neurons light right up even if those lines do make loopy loops! Best wishes to you as well. I'm very glad I discovered you channel.

Very interesting technique. What do you do with the final painting? Do you use it in cards, hang it on a wall,...? Do you apply a final cover to protect it? Thanks.
@gabrielleannacormierart
@gabrielleannacormierart 6 ай бұрын
There are a number of different things I do with my paintings... Sometimes, I do make cards. Other times I frame them and hang them in my home. And I also sell them. I like to put a UV protectant and sealant spray on them when they are done. Some people recommend framing watercolors behind glass (instead of the spray) to protect them. I think it's really a matter of personal preference. 😉 I hope this helps!

Hi Deene! Russian psychologist Pavel Piscarev coined the terms neurographic art or more specifically Neurographica back in 2014. There is a lot of information online about the benefits of this art form. Also, there is much information on neuroplasticity and how art helps at many stages of life. Here is a link to an interesting podcast on the subject: www.sydney.edu.au/news-opinion/news/2018/08/06/how-art-changes-the-brain.html. Since there is much more information on these subjects than I can list here, I encourage you to explore this subject. Have fun learning ☺️
