How to create an Agile Product Vision? #1

So How exactly do you describe a “Vision”
There are many definitions of Vision floating around on the internet including this one:
“A vision statement is an inspirational statement of an idealistic emotional future of a company or group. The Vision describes the basic human emotion that a founder intends to be experienced by the people the organization interacts with, it grounds the group so it can actualize some existential impact on the world.”
Now when I first read this definition of Vision I had to use both my hand to hold my head because it was spinning so fast.
Over several years of working in a corporate environment, I have seen many simple concepts being described in unnecessarily long, and complex business language that does not make any sense to people who are new to the corporate world.
So discarding all the fluff and unnecessary Jargon. I would describe Vision as:
A Vision is a point in the future WHERE you want to go.

This video literally gave me VISION! I couldn't seem to comprehend why this ML work I am currently doing was so difficult! I was because I was blind to the vision of my ML Lead. Now that this is clear for me soooooo much just opened up! Thank you Vibhor

Dear god to me, where were you these many days hiding on youtube... Finally, Google helped me in revealing you when I searched for user story techniques. I'm glad to come up with this series of videos. Im a senior software QA, aspirant to become a product owner, with no experience in product owner responsibilities. Completed SAFe POPM certificate and looking for jobs. While attending the interviews I came up with a set of questions in real-time, where I was rejected. Your videos, helping me in a flow to understand the concepts. Thanks a lot! I believe I take up all these and get a good job as desired. Thanks again!! I came across this clip when i try to look around for product vision , this video give a very clear understanding what product vision is. I was wondering any PO here that could give me an advice. I'm more on the B2B space , my day to day task mostly prioritizating bug tickets and some BAU tickets. Im currently taking care 3 products , does the product vision really helps me in my situation?

Just sharing here after much thought about my own questions. I believe Product Vision still applies in my situation, altho i'm handling purely Bugs /BAU tickets on B2B space. I can have a vision ( ex: Be the #1 B2B product that everyone love to use ) Then from the vision i can create a strategy revolve around that. Please let me know your thought if have any, cheers guys ~

Why are you not talking about product manager. Isn’t it product managers job to define product vision , strategy and Rodmap. Product owners then takes that vision and strategy to execute the roadmap

You’re spot on and I’d say that’s typically what most orgs task their PMs and POs with. However, I will say it’s important for Scrum Masters and Agile coaches to be well versed in the topic so we can confidently coach and facilitate conversations about Product Visions and Roadmaps with our Product Leaders and the organization as a whole.
