How to Create an AMAZING PENDULUM PAINTING by CHELC PAINTS / MESMERIZING ARTIST

Hey guys I got inspired to do a little pendulum since I saw the video that everyone has seen on FACEBOOK " titled ARTIST MAKES AMAZING PAINTING: IT'S MESMERIZING " . It currently has almost 250 million views so I thought hey why not try to do one and see how it comes out!!!
I used just basic house paint form Home Depot to paint the blue on the 48 inch by 48 inch plywood. I used some White House paint form Lowes to make the pendulum.
I used 30 lb braided fishing line to hang the cup.
The cup is an 18 ounce cup which I filled all the way up.
I cut a 1/8 inch hole in the bottom of the cup using a drill bit.
I did not add any pouring medium to any of the paints used in this painting.

As I was watching this, I was thinking you must have had a lot of practice; to get the swing just right, the consistency of the paint, the size of the hole in the cup - all the little variables that made this just so perfect. And then I read your description where you said this was just a first-time experiment! What?! This turned out so beautiful, you should just stop now - you will never be able to top it! Well done!

Thank you so much ! I actually practiced it like 3 times right before this just straight down on the plastic... we had to get the paint consistency right and the hole right at the bottom of the cup and the weight heavy enough to continue swinging... it was so fun!

Awesome! Love it. I’ve always used light-weight string to hang my cup without any extra weight, and my cup spirals out to the center too quickly. Thank you for the tips! I’ll definitely try adding weight next time :)

Yeah! She is doing the best pendulum Cause she follow every single steps so nicely. The centre point of paint can, it would be match to the same centre on the cardboard surface and you have to decide the paint requirement as well as fishing thread is flexible as strong as well Thanks for making this video and spread those words

Jazza talked about you in his recent video. Your painting makes me think of 2001: A Space Odyssey when John is travelling a wormhole, it is beautiful and combined with the music is kind of hypnotic, a great idea for an art installation.

I’m glad you enjoyed it ! 😍🤩 I think if I hadn’t pushed the cup so hard that more paint would have ended up on the wood 😂 I practiced doing this a couple times just letting go of the cup then when we started recording I swung it out all hard LOL!! But yes I probably could go bigger 🤔😏😌🎉

ChelC Paints , well I’ve done 6 different pieces using the pendulum and a few of them were in combination with something else. All table top, of course. My last one I did over a swipe.
