i literally went to the exact same file after i enter cfg i made the textpad and when i pressed enter it was put as a text documant not a cfg even tho I named the file autoexec.cfg

You have to use the menu to change it from ".txt text document" to "All files" before you save it or else it'll just be a text file with .cfg at the end

I tried create and deleting my cfg autoexec.cfg file multiple times but it still wont change to a cfg file and is still a text document. How do I fix this?

you can copy another cfg file and just delete the information inside the copy and write ur own commands in there.
