Thank you! I saw the glitter in the shop as I walked by and I immediately thought that I could use them! And I saw more colours online, it could be interesting to see if anyone uses them for gems etc :) And thank you, I really didn’t like the way I sounded at first but got used to it. I just wanted to make the videos my way and how I would like to have on whilst I would be painting so I’m glad that I come across as pleasant! :):) I start work on the next one tomorrow and fingers crossed get it out before Christmas!

@@SwordsandBrushes i noticed you use a lot of Army painter paints how do you find them ?? Seen a lot of paint snobbery if thats the phrase to use to describe it towards the brand. I found some of there metallics fantastic compared to citadel!! And there bottles are easier to use, less wasteful and come with a ball bearing added to mix the pigment back into the medium. Im currently waiting on the release of fanatics as i love the idea of that triad system!! Curious to know your thoughts!!
@SwordsandBrushes
@SwordsandBrushes 8 ай бұрын
Im a fan of them for sure, i used Citadel paints for years and years until ii started picking up the odd Army Painter product here and there, and now i mainly use them as they have a decent array of colours, are less expensive, you get more in the pot and of course dropper bottles! Scraping paint out of a lid is very 90's haha Some colours are not the best like the yellows and oranges, but i was fortunate to get a trio of the new fanatic range and the orange is outstanding! So i am certainly going to be getting them next year! It's nice as i know they listen to customer feedback and i like that in a brand. Plus it's easier to do tutorials and guides with one range as i dont have to "hop" from one brand to another :):)

@@SwordsandBrushes thank you thats great to hear and I’m definitely going to get the fanatics now!! I will mention you when i do, and those citadel pots… i don’t thing i can say politely hot bad a design they are and how much paint is wasted!! Thank you for coming back to me it is very much appreciated 😊 Keep up the good work I’m slowly catching up on the back log of videos i stumbled across your channel last week and i have to say its a fantastic find, your painting is fantastic and as i said before you have some great ideas!! 😊 Do you have an instagram ??

Thank you so much! Im glad that I have a pleasant voice, its a bit weird hearing it back at first ut once I got into the swing of things on my first video then I was happy :) Interesting in a good way I hope! I want to make it a bit cinematic at the start and then be able to clearly present how I go about doing things - with a bit of my humour in there too! Im still learning a lot on the video side of things as this is only video number 2 but I hope to get a bit better as I go and add more value and entertainment! :):)

@@SwordsandBrushes Absolutely! Interesting as in makes me invested in the vid - normally I paint and have something playing in the background, in your case I watch and have something waiting for paint in the background 😂 And don't worry, the "hearing yourself" thingie hits everybody! You put in the right amount of humour without overdoing it or making it an annoying/awkward comedy. Then again this is a very viewer-reliant element but at the same time I think such vids present the best value - people will learn and not get bored with a dry and monotonous "painting guide". I look forward to how many alternatives to "press the like button" you'll come up with 😂 With videos of this quality I think you're off to a great start, can't wait to see where you get up to mate ^^ Good luck mate!

Haha good , im glad that my content is interesting in that way! Oh definitely i watch so much whilst i'm painting, i tend to see what Battle streams in Middle Earth and Zorpazorp are upto, plus i like having battle reports on. It passes the time perfectly :) Thank you, i try to add my own element in and think - what would i like to watch and how its presented so if i like it, then i feel positive about creating the content. But again thank you very much for the kind words! Oh i do have a list for the 'like buttons' part, so ive got enough to keep me going for a while haha :):)

@@SwordsandBrushes any tips on how to do bases for models on castle walls? I have a minas tirith and a helms deep display covered in painted models. I think those models will probably just want brick work but i have no idea how to do brick work do brick work on bases that still look realistic and good
@SwordsandBrushes
@SwordsandBrushes 2 жыл бұрын
@@somethingfromnothing8428 that sounds like a great idea - there are a few ways to do it, depends how create and how much you would like to spend! The quick way is to just buy resin bases which a few online stores do, I see some knocking around on Etsy too. You could make them by hand with putty and sculpt lines in to create a brick texture (or use a roller - I think Greenstuff world has a few varieties. I myself like to be a bit creative and save money where I can, so I found a cool textured wallpaper at a local shop that had the perfect scale of brickwork, I just got a free sample and then cut the wallpaper to size. I did a a PDF tutorial on it a while back which is on my website, but I will share the link with you :) www.cbminiaturepainting.com/tutorials/ I hope that helps!

More than for single figures, the golden glitters' trick could be used for a Dragon 's lair diorama, to simulate a gold's bed, such as in Smaug 's lair.

Nice! I'll look forward to that. I'm a bit of an old schooler I love advanced heroquest, space crusade, space hulk . So this is a change of pace but really fancied getting it and painting the minis. Yeah I think it's a decent price, heard mixed reviews about the actual game play once I've painted up the minis I'll be giving it a go.

After do you just attach the mini with plastic glue?
@SwordsandBrushes

Good question! Definitely use super glue at the end. Plastic glue will not glue onto a sand substance. Alternatively you could glue a miniature first to a base and then add all the materials afterwards if you are more comfortable doing that :)
