This is a real life sized CATNAP plush Playtime Factory gamer display based off our son's catnap drawing. We created the realistic CatNap Poppy play shelf to display all our sons Smiling Critters plushies, Legos, and projects. He needed a lot of space for all the Poppy Playtime Horror game characters by Mob Entertainment. Our boy is in love with CatNap, DogDay, Huggy Wuggy, and all the other spooky characters from watching Gamers like Spycakes, Beautiful OB, Comodo, Frustrated Gamer, and Thinknoodles, to name a few. He has been asking us to create a few of these cartoon animation characters for months, but we were holding off in hopes for another big retro build. In the game, Catnap, otherwise known as Experiment 1188 or previously Theodore Grambell, is one of the antagonists in Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 Deep Sleep. He breathes red smoke, which makes you see nightmare CatNap. This Monster Catnap ended up being really fun to make. Who knows, maybe we might just have to make more of these interesting characters in the future. For this project, we share the full build and go over our game plan of design. We build a large wood coffin shaped shelf or display unit. We share how to paint realistic looking bricks. We sculpt a large cat out of Styrofoam and hard coat the entire sculpture afterward. We create a great fur texture using a thin set mortar and silicone stamps, which we never tried before. We custom paint the outside of the giant toy catnap using several colors to give it that perfect pop. We wire up some LED light up eyes and create a stitched up plushie look along a few of the joints. I carved skeletal bones in the spine and back areas to help create that creepy feel you see in the video game. We also gold leaf the crescent moon charm pendant after it's hard coated. We also take a little tour of our sons Poppy Playtime collection and creations at the end. Thanks for watching, and we'll see you next time.
