Those floating bookshelves give me major anxiety.

the temptation to rearrange my shelves now is too strong...

*stares at my bookshelves and looks at sasha bookshelves and looks back at mine* Is anyone up for a hit and run at Sasha's house? We'll grab the that specific wall with the bookshelf and all and just run like we are in one of those dystopian novels and Sasha's the government. ALRIGHT. LET'S DO THIS!

I don't have a bookshelf, so I have over 70 books on the top of my desktop... When someone pushes , I get all crazy and start shouting "THE BOOKS! THE BOOKS!"

Hehe, so for me I had a three shelf bookcase in my tiny little box room, and I crammed as many books into it as I could, and then ended up having a stack of books next to it that was as almost as high and the bookcase. Now, my mum and grandad have been pressuring me to move into my older brother's old room for a few years now, as it's been empty for years and just holds a lot of junk, but I never wanted to. Until a few months ago when I clearly had no room for anymore books in my room...so I've just moved into that bigger room under an agreement that I can get a bigger and better bookcase! Yaaaassss!

For the most part I don't like organizing my books horizontally because I prefer how they look when they're on the shelf as in a library or bookstore. However, having outgrown my shelf space, I can see some very good points in this video. Since I don't have the room to move the books and put them in place alphabetically, I'll use some of your tips to organize them on top of storage boxes horizontally. I don't think I could endure a book un-haul, though. :)

I feel like I'm the only one who actually enjoys a messy bookshelf.

I have the smallest bookcase ever and somehow I've managed to fit over 70 books on it. Funny thing is I've used all these tips, these will definitely help some booknerds out!

I just bought myself a bookshelf - I've wanted one for absolutely ages and finally invested, but it's already full! Love it so much though - it's featured in my latest vlog, even though I had to sit on the floor to include it haha! I got so excited when I first got it that I ended up just chucking everything on there without filing them properly... need to arrange them properly after seeing this! Thank you for the tips :)

Love this! I'm glad you mentioned unhauls because I don't think a lot of people remember that unhauls are a thing and what's so great about them is that you can spread the joy of reading through charity. :)

If you don't particularly like a book, get rid of it. Donate it or give it away or even recycle it. Doing it in a big batch is definitely easier so maybe have a container or bag somewhere with books that you don't want to keep and you could put them in there rather than keeping them on your shelf. Just a thought.

This makes me want to reorganize my bookshelf! I have a tiny bookshelf right now because that's all I can fit in my room. But I do have a big bookshelf for when we move and this will help a lot because I have bought a lot of books sense we moved. Also this will help when I bring home my 40 or so books I have in my dorm back to my house. Yikes that's gonna be hard. Love your videos!

Every time when I look at your bookshelf my mind blow up, I love your bookshelf so much, I wish I have one but Hong Kong is a very tiny place and so as my room, so I make compromise to the digital one, I can read still but less fun during the process, I love to watch them and surrounded by them, so great…

After searching and only finding a bunch of silly Pinterest posts like "Use an $80 decorative basket from Pier 1 to store these two cute little extra books!" I was getting quite frustrated with the internet's inability to understand my problem. YOU GET IT! And I LOVE your bookshelf! It's gorgeous. Little Free Libraries are also a great place to send off gently used, highly loved books and keep them close-ish.

Hey Sasha! First of all, I love your videos. So recently, I've been wanting to change all of my paperback books to hardcover ones so I've been using the unhaul option for 3 years now. Basically, every year, my school has this book fair, where they resell old books you have by 1/4 of its price and the money would always go to Habitat for Humanity. Watching this video made me want to do it much much more (even if my class always raises the most money) so thanks Sasha! Ily 5 ever

Honestly, I only got 2 spaces and they're super full, I put the remaining ones on my box and keep it at the corner of the room, and I always tell my mom to buy me a big one but she said big bookshelf will make our house narrow. We only live in a condominium so it's small for us to fit .. And these are super great ideas, specially for the thick ones😊

hahah I'm so jealous of how much space you have! I have two small shelves, my desk has little square cubbie holes, and my closet (converted to desk cubie lol) has a shelf at the top, AND my bed has drawers under it intended for clothes im sure but its the guest bed room, theres books in them instead!

this tips are really helpful, since i only have one bookshelf where half of it is books and the other half is other stuff that i collect like dolls, the first 2 in the top are for the books and they are full, i have almost every book horizontally on top of each other, those ones are the ones were the title is horizontally or they are completed series that have matching covers, i also kinda place them according to paperback or hardback and series, books to read or that i have read, completed series, and like u said bc the books have different sizes i have placed some of them like a puzzle or like tetris game xD but when i get more books i may have to put every book horizontally or maybe get floating shelfs for my dolls and the rest of space in the bookshelf is for all the books

i have also seen people put books in a corner stacking them in a organized ways and it looks cool (once i put mine close to my bed near the window where i knew i wasn't going to knock them down)

I organize my books by edition house/publishers because they mostly publish books in the same sizes so they fit really well together, and it looks tidy when they are stacked. My collection is way too big for the space I have at the moment so I only display 2/3 of it, the rest is scattered in different cupboards ^^"

I was so curious of red queen after you spoke about it so I ordered the englisch version (I'm from holland and the dutch version is not out yet). I am so excited to start reading the book. x

Ever since seeing your book shelf that you had in this video, I really wanted one of these above my bed, but when I asked my mom about it, she said that our walls were way too weak and the shelf would just come crashing down on my head as soon as I put anything on it. So I know use an ikea cd rack as a mini bookshelf, and it actually works pretty well, except it is currently completely full. All of my Harry Potter books are now just stacked at the very top of my school textbooks shelf and I can't even reach them. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to use any of the tips in this video because I use the cd rack as a bookshelf, due to lack of space in my room.

when i was in fourth grade or something, I only had a small bookshelf but i loved reading so much, so there were 3 rows in front of each other horizontally, yeah... i love reading-don't judge!

I stack my favourite series differently by standing them up with their front covers showing, but putting the first book in front and putting the rest of the books in the series behind it

Since I don't have a permanent home, I have all my read books in boxes... All nine of them. I do have my tbr books out and I have 150 of them so I can still look at part of my collection. I can't wait until I see my whole collection together! I've forgot what they look like all together, haha.

These are really good tips I would have a collection of books that big likes yours but I really don't have room for it so that's why I just checkout books from the library read them and return them until I go to my thrift shop and pick up like 20 books and have no place to put them. :)
