The plastic causes the clay to dome while being cut. It create a nice, easy bevel on the piece.

What is the number grit of the finest polishing cloth?

The white (the finest one) is 8000 grit.

I don't understand the mica shift. There's no mica? Its a lovely pattern though. I keep hearing the term but i don't get it.
