This video demonstrates Adam Ciaccia creating short versatile layers in long hair. Also known as a 'shag' or 'square' layered haircut, this haircut has many variations and is trending right now in long hair, this length is commercially very popular, albeit conservative. Hi, I enjoy watching you, and I have done so for a few years. I had a shag in the 60s and 70s. The shags we were way shorter and curlier. We had bangs. To me, what you're doing is layering long hair. We wore the true shag. We were hippies lol ! Thank you, Sherri Birkland

Adam, I'm so happy to see your detailed instructional videos again. This has to be one of the best so far. So much detail, great camera work and lighting. I hope to see more like this, even if it means repeating some of your old cuts from previous videos on new models filmed in your new salon. I hope you'll post more, as its inspiring to learn such skills.

+Adam Ciaccia have them step back a foot or zoom out so the focus is on you cutting. There were several instances that were missed because the camera was pointed on something else.

You are the best Hairdresser Adam. I always pay for the top stylist and I am still not happy. I am rushed out in 45 mins and that includes wash, cut and blow dry. There are a lot of long strands from the ends of my hair left behind from underneath this time, not happy. I can’t find a decent hairdresser and I have been to most top salons and still to no avail.

I think you’re great and makes me miss my hairdresser of days past because it’s almost impossible to find one to take their time and do a good proper cut which brings me to my concern...when you say you only have 45 min is that for filming or that’s the timeline the salon gives? If it’s the salon then I have a problem w that and maybe that’s why I can’t get a good cut anymore, idk? I want it to take as long as it takes, period! A good cut should absolutely take 45 min but I don’t ever like to feel rushed and that’s so common. Nothing worse than feeling rushed through a pricey look only to get a cheap result! Not referring to you obviously, but the last thing I want is for my stylist to be on a timer and I hope that’s not what u meant because then maybe that’s the problem now days, idk but I can’t figure it out for the life of me why it’s so hard to find quality work anymore, uuugh. It almost hurts watching you knowing I can’t have what I watch, lol, fml! 🤦🏼‍♀️😂😩
