How to create striped lettering in Embrilliance Enthusiast

This video is a recap from a Facebook Live Broadcast done in July 2019. The companion design files can be found on the Embrilliance website:

The design starts as a simple lettering object created with a built in font from Embrilliance Essentials. Each program has its own list of features and functions - Essentials comes with 12 build in object based fonts. Next we use the selection tools to do our design customization. The freehand select tool allows us to "lasso" the dot on the "i" so it can be easily deleted. The rectangular selection tool allows us to create a straight edge selection so we can turn our simple "Holiday" into a candy cane striped design.
The stitch editing features also allow us to set the long stitches as jumps with locking ties at either end to prevent unraveling.

Great technique! Seems pretty simple but I honestly don’t know if I would have thought about it long enough to figure out how to do it. So seeing it done opens up a whole new way of customizing my letters. Thanks!

Wow, this Vid is Packed with info on several different functions & will be watching over & over til I have Memorized (as I follow along on Embrilliance) My routine is to Watch full the 1st time, Watch & take Notes the 2nd time & Follow along the 3rd time (hoping by then I've committed to memory & keep pace without Stopping!) You are a tremendously valuable resource that All embroiderers would benefit from your Vids (watching you shows me how little I Actually know lol, but willing to learn!)

What is the sequence to get to Jump and Ensure Ties if you are using a Mac? I keep clicking Control plus the bottom of the Touchpad (MacBook Pro) and sometimes I get that choice and sometimes I do not. I can not get that menu choice consistently and sometimes not at all. I am doing each step as I am watching your video but have reached a standstill at 8:52.

Very nice video, I learned a lot. Is it possible to do this using SA1 or Essentials? I do not have the Enthusiast software, I am trying to utilize what I have to the max before purchasing more. I appreciate your help. If it is possible in SA1 or Essentials, can you please post a video showing how. Thank you in advance.

Hi great video. I was was following along with my computer and was stuck on the Right click....I have a MAC and typically when I hit the Control Key paired with the Mouse, I get my pop-up for Right click menu. Unfortunately It's not working in my software. Do you have a solution to where I can right click or find on the menu where I can "convert to stitches" and remove the lettering option. I do have Embrilliance, Enthusiast, and Stitch ARtist 1 and Alpha tricks. I have updated all my software. Thank you

I loved this but for some reason when I am removing the stitched from my letters O, d and a i can't get the red stitch to delete. I did it the same way as i did all the others so I'm not sure what i am doing wrong. I worked each step with you and these just won't go away?? Can you help? Thanks

I know your post was over 2 years ago, but I'm wondering if you got an answer. I was able to get the jump stitches removed from the O, but not the d and a.

🤗 Bcuz the tutorial was done 3 yrs ago is it currently up to date I’d love to stitch this out but I’m not understanding why I’d have to click on each part of the letters ? I’m really considering enthusiast to have with essentials.. yet I’m still learning..

Yes it is up to date. You need to think of this as stitch editing- not letters. There are no letters just stitches. Each group of stitches needs to be adjusted. If you have other questions please reach out to support. Http://embrilliance.com/contact-us/

Shazia Rosay you will have to change the long stitches to jumps a couple times because of how the edited stitch file stitches out.

Hi Lisa, I've watched this video at least 20 times and trying to follow along LOL. I believe I finally got it done. However, I still have the jump stitches on the bottom portion of my "o" and "d". I've tried to do the same as I did with the top portion (long stitches between the "H" and "l" and the long stitch between the "l" and the "d", but it's not functioning for me. I left clicked on the long thread and then right clicked and chose "jump+ensure ties", but nothing happens. The jump stitch does not come off. I'm sure this is operator error, but not sure what I'm doing wrong. Please HELP! 😵‍💫 Thanks! 💜

There may be multiple jumps because you are breaking the stitches. Watch the stitch simulator to understand.

Very interesting, I still don't understand why you would want to grab each section of the letters. What is wrong with it stitching out left to right...

Not sure what you are asking - but there is always more than one way to accomplish a task! Choose the way that works best for you!

when you lasso each section of the ":H" and make it independent from the rest of the design. Why? what is the purpose of doing that and not just leaving it alone after you change the color. That is what I'm asking. Thank you. @@Embrilliance
