I´m 13,I go to a international school which offers the IB and IGCSE. last year I had my first exam.and the teacher came in and said"right now these exams mays not be important,but once you´ll get to university,you´ll be used to exams."(something along these lines)but thats not important.The teacher already assumed that all of us will go to university and be doctors,Lawyers,architects,etc but then I see my classmates who I have known since we were toddlers;and I can´t Imagine them as those people.I see politicians that will change the world,Authors that will touch your heart,musicians,artists. I see them as those people.I can´t imagine my brother as an architect,but rather a fashion designer.I feel sad because I´ve seen these people and they have tried to live up to the expectations.I also have tried.But they were not happy,and neither was I.So now we are stuck with close-minded teachers,and somehow we try to find another source of education.we are starving for knowledge and suffocating on school.Personally I felt like I was dying most of the time.empty.numb to anything but anxiety.I feel like our school does not see as Individual minds but young people that will be "successful" and that they can brag about to get more students.we are not a tool.we are the future therefore,dear teachers I recommend you to educate me properly otherwise I will find other resources to educate myself.I refuse to be a tool,but rather a independent young mind with crazy dreams and that does not care anymore about your expectations on me.I don´t know if anyone at my school has realized yet,but this is my life.and I won´t waste time on trying to please wrinkly teachers that haven´t accomplished anything in their life,so they try to make my life harder.I´ll have to hold on for another 5 years + further so-called education until I can do something,because now I am only a 13 year old girl which mind fails school but doesn't fail thinking,but one day you may see me,changing the world.Thank you for making this speech,its rather helpful to have some motivation,otherwise I fear I would give in to blithering Idiots who try to "make a positive change" in my life.
