Thank you Korda SA - my first attempt and it worked well. The only thing I went slightly wrong on was the size of the loop. It wasn’t big enough to fold back over the hook so I simply looped it on by pushing the boom back through and I added a bit of silicone on the shank plus a bit of putty over the krimp. It only took an hour. The 2nd one took me 15 minutes. Here I go!! Thanks again, always more satisfying tying your own now I just need to get on the the big carp in France next week. I’ll let you know if it works 👍🏼

I think you’ll find it’s called a double figure of 8 knot

Bonjour De combien de centimètres je dois laisser dépasser la tresse avant de faire le noeud sans noeud ? J ai cru comprendre 5.5cm mais je suis pas sûr 😐 Merci super vidéo !!

Save yourself some money use an Albright knot. You can tie them without a needle and you won't have to buy crimps. Served me well for 25+ years

Totally agree! Too much pissing around doing it that way.

Then the effect would not be there. With the variant you can easily exchange the hook section. With an Albright knot you will have to ready the whole rig. Just think before you answer.

@@boltrig7929 I have many rigs pre tied so its not a problem. You can just tie a loop then you can change hook section all day still without crimps. Happy now know it all.

Try catching 92 Carp in a session and see how much wastage you have. Now I only replace the hook part after re-sharpening my hooks a couple of times. That is why there are so many rigs out there. Choose what works for you and stick with it.

Seems a lot of messing around for ultimately what is a stiff hinge

Good but that bait is way past the hook it's no longer the length you made the hair
@gilbertfoxcroft13776 ай бұрын
It is all about the position of the bait in relation to the bend of the hook.
@steve007126 ай бұрын
@gilbertfoxcroft1377 but in your video you said not to have the bait do past the bend in the hook. But when almost finished it was almost 1cm past the bend so could wrap it self around the hook

As the videos were shot during lockdown and edited 600km away, I could not re-shoot that cut-away. When I tied the rig, I did not tie it tight enough right from the start, so the hait ended longer than it should have. Well spotted. The long & short, the hair should be more like a short KD than too long.

I am in the process of revisiting all those videos agian and will be re-shooting them in studio soon.
