Just started this project using a 6,5mm hook. I guess I'll have to add some rows in order for it to be big enough but I hope it turns out ok! Bought to many crochet hooks this month so I have to manage without getting new ones 😅 thanks a lot for this great pattern!

So happy you enjoyed it! You can continue working increase rounds at the Botton until you reach your desired width! You'll have to do a little math when you get to the handles though to have them equally around the top.

You can either use a larger crochet hook or after round 8, you can continue working increase rounds until you get the width you'd like!

I’m making this but using a 6 weight yarn and a 9mm hook. I’m on the round where you start the handles and my bag is not as big as I’d like it. Is there a way I can make it bigger without frogging all the way back to the increase rows? If not then how do you determine how big to make the handles?

Hi Cindy! If you just want it longer than you can just work more rounds until you reach your desired length. If you want it larger in circumference, you will need to go back and add more increase rounds. To line up the handles if more increase rounds are added: for each increase round you add, you'll need to add 2 stitches at the beginning of the row, 4 more stitches after the first handle, then 2 more stitches to the end of the row. Hope that makes sense!

im def gonna do this for my second crochet project! Quick question though, will an 8ply milk cotton yarn do..? and if im going to use that will it need a different hook size?

If I'm not mistaken I think that yarn is a medium/worsted weight, so I would suggest using 2 strands of it held together then you can use the same hook I used, a 8.00mm and the bag should work up just like mine did. Hope that helps!

Hi! If you place fairly heavy items in the bag, it will stretch a little bit, but the handles and bag are quite sturdy, and because the handles are made up of multiple rows, they can handle quite a bit of weight.
