I've used this cord a few times now. Straps for a top and they didn't stretch out! A cord for my glasses, just bought some of those little connecters. Now a cord for a poncho! So easy!

I always use the deep-slotted crochet hooks such as Susan Bates. It saves a lot of steps. Try it, you’ll like it!! (They also don’t split the yarn when using softer stranded yarns).

It may not work for you but it looks we have a similar styles of holding our hook although it’s a big different when doing demos but I like that I never drop my thread/yarn and don’t split yarns because I’ve caught the thread and not had to fudge a bit while grabbing each stitch.

Hello I was wondering how exactly you’d do the two strands together? Like just fold the yarn? I’m very confused about this part
@CreativeExpress87
@CreativeExpress87 Жыл бұрын
One easy way is to take a strand from the outside of the skein and another from the center and use them together. The two strands will twist together at the skein so you'll have to regularly untwist them by rotating the skein though.
@hayleyjohnson1970
@hayleyjohnson1970 2 жыл бұрын
Why not show it with the two strands? Is there four bars to go into when you use four? How do you finish off? This is a very vague video.
@CreativeExpress87
@CreativeExpress87 Жыл бұрын
Yes there are four. For finishing off I think you'd just cut and pull the working end tail through then connect to your bag or clasps/rings.

I notice that you finish your single crochet by putting your hook behind the yarn vs the yarn behind the hook. Does that make a difference? Thanks.

LOL - no worries! I am self-taught, so I tend to watch how others crochet. I have noticed some people chain then turn, while others turn then chain. Appreciate the response!
@cubbylevi1764
@cubbylevi1764 6 жыл бұрын
Maryann K There are KZfaq videos comparing yarn over vs yarn under. It makes a difference in what a stitch looks like (not from a distance or casual glance) but more importantly, the gauge. I think yarning over is the correct way, from chaining to other stitches. 🙂 Happy crocheting! (I think Make & Do Crew should charge a nominal fee for the very chic patterns she creates.)

So I tried this and it didn’t look anything like that plus the stitches were very tight no matter what size hook I used... I’m pretty sure the yarn over/yarn under will effect this- I always yarn over.
