This is so helpful. Thank you very much, Vanissia, for your generous sharing. I am a retired teacher and am always grateful for someone who knows how to teach in a logical sequence, with clarity, and who leaves out the extraneous. Great job and thanks again.

Thank you so much for taking the time to make this tutorial. It will definitely be helpful for future sweaters. I’ve been knitting for a long time and have always had the goal of having my knitting look ‘handmade’, not ‘homemade’, and this tutorial will definitely help in that regard. Please continue to share your techniques. It is much appreciated!

Thank you Vanissia! This is so helpful, I tried the crochet method before and it worked but somehow didn’t think of not cutting the yarn after the slip stitches and also knitting the rib inside out is genius, will try again for sure, I love how neat it looks ❤

It's not the look for me personally, I much prefer how organic regular methods of pickup look, but it's so nice for you to take time to film a tutorial, I am sure many people will find it very helpful!

Thank you. Very useful info. Especially about skipping the purls and just knitting on the 3 ndl bind off. I have a sweater I am going to try that on. The marshmallow one from hobbii. Free pattern great to use up when you only have 2 balls of one colour

Hi Vanissia, thanks for the tutorial, really nice edge on this, will use it on my next drop shoulder jumper. I have a question though, you mention a few rounds of double knitting for the fold, what exactly are you doing here and how many rounds? Thanks.
@thewoollyworker5 ай бұрын
Some patterns from MFTK and Petiteknit suggest that to get the neck to have a natural fold line, you do a couple of rounds of double knitting as such: - first round: k1, sl1wyif - second round: sl1wyib, p1 then continue ribbing as normal !

@@thewoollyworker Thank you, I'm making a cozy classic raglan but adding the neckband afterwards so there's more structure to the neckline and it doesn't stretch out as much. Thought a folded neckband would be nice.

Hi! Do you know how would this be possible with the monday sweater which starts with the neck?
@thewoollyworker4 ай бұрын
hello, yes, that could work, if you don't start at the neck, and just cast on the same amount of stitches, knit 1 round, then immediately do the short rows ! then you can pick up at the cast on edge
