I have a question. When doing the base, the first row it was 4 double crochet in last stitch, then on the next end it was 3 double crochet in last stitch. Do I repeat that in the next few rows? Meaning do I do 3 double crochet in the last stitch in every row (just on the base)

Why didn't you include how you sewed the handles onto the bag? Like, how did you do it and what kind of needle and thread did you use? or did you use yarn to sew? I've made this bag now (bigger), save for the handles because I don't know what to do once I have them or how long to actually make them because you didn't give an estimate of chains in your example. I'm confused.
