Aelinn is an Intermediate level, crochet sweater that is surely going to become your new, go-to pullover! In this video, I'm going to show you how to crochet the beautiful ribbing, as well as the textured body stitch. I'll also share some useful tips and tricks that will help you to seamlessly join the ribbing to the rest of your sweater.
Aelinn is made with our scrumptious Dewy DK yarn. This squishy, plump, and beloved yarn is a blend of 70% Superwash Merino Wool, 20% Nylon, and 10% Silk. It is the perfect yarn for making pullovers! 250 yd/230 m per skein.
Aelinn is offered in sizes XS to 5X, and you will need 6 (7, 8, 8, 9) (10, 10, 11, 12) skeins based on your bust circumference measurement. The finished pullover has 2”-4” of positive ease.

This may well be my first try on a garment. My bonus daughter is always cold. I learned very young but had to relearn after several strokes. So now I'm a proud righthanded crafter. Before the stokes I was a leftie. Still not as fast as I used to be but a pretty steady hand. Which I never would have expected 9years ago. Have a great weekend all. 😘

@@hotdudesgirl9520 I'm so glad you were able to recover and re-learn how to crochet. It is incredibly frustrating having no control over your life. I had Guillain Barre Syndrome and lost the use of my hands and feet. It was so devestating to have my husband help me with everything. He never got the hang of knitting though😋. Over time I regained the use of my hands😁 however my feet have not fully recovered. I'm just happy I can take care of myself and him along with the doggo.

So glad I found you. You are a beautiful woman, positive, encouraging, sweet with fantastic teaching videos, beautiful yarn and patterns. You make this look so easy to make the sweater that I might actually even give it a try. I’ve been crocheting since I was a little girl and I’m going to be the big 60 this year…ugh 😂. Over the years I’ve made many crochet projects a few sweaters, garments mostly for children and I would like to learn how to make adult sizes for myself. This sweater just might be the one I start with. Knitting is one thing I would love to learn. I can't wait to make this sweater, my list is getting longer each Friday! It's a stunner, for sure! You are beautiful and a sweetheart. I don't remember when I learned to crochet, I was 20 when I taught myself to knit. I made a baby afghan for my first baby. It was the honeycomb pattern from an old McCalls book. I learned to crochet at the age of 11 from my 5th grade teacher. And even though my mother and grandmother crocheted, the art lay dormant in me until 5 years ago (at age 54) when inspiration struck me to crochet a blanket for my first (and only) grandchild’s arrival. The learning curve was made easier thanks to my teacher all those years ago, and I haven’t put down my hooks since then! Thanks, Chandi, for a great pattern and tutorials and the “prize” tucked within. ❤

I started knitting at about age 5 but was never able to master crochet until I was nearly 50! Now I am comfortable with both crafts and I’ve even mastered a looser crochet tension which I think was always my trouble when moving from knitting . I’m absolutely addicted to a few of you wonderful KZfaq hosts in both crafts but I particularly love that you do both. Keep being as inspiring and beautiful because you brighten my day every day ❤

Hi! I'm fifty already. I knew knitting and a bit of crochet as a young girl by was never able to further my craft due to a full time job I still work but have started to find time for knitting. But crochet is impossible to learn at this age!😊

My grandma taught me how to make a crochet chain when I was 8 or 9 years old. I picked up my yarn again when I was 47. I was determined to master this art so I watched KZfaq videos, started making dishcloths, blankets and scarves. I love making amigurumi items and little lovey toys. I learned to crochet when I was 25. I taught myself through reading crochet books. I’m convinced it’s in my genes as I had a grandmother who crocheted. I started to crochet at age 6 or 7. My grand mother crocheted and I took a real interest in it. She taught me with a K crochet hook which I still have. The basics chain, sc, hd, of course over the years I put crochet aside but I picked it back up again thanks to my sister in-law helping me and You Tube. It's been difficult over the years to find crochet sweater patterns that I actually like! This one is SUPER cool and I'm excited to crochet this (with a few minor adjustments for personal preference) once I get caught up with a few other WIPs. 😉 I was 12 or 13 when my grandmother taught me how to crochet. First, she had me start with a chain to get my tension down. Then, she taught me how to make a granny square. As I got busy with "typical teenage life," crochet got set aside for "more important things." However, when I met my former mother-in-law in my mid-20s, I quickly discovered that she was an AVID crocheter!! I was SUPER impressed that she had the ability to turn ANY knit pattern into a crochet pattern just by looking at a picture (especially since she didn't knit!). I quickly picked up my crochet again and have been doing it ever since. I won't ever forget the time when I was a struggling single mom and my sons needed winter apparel. I was SUPER grateful to these women that I was able to make hats and mittens for my kiddos to help keep them warm that winter! Thankfully, I've had the opportunity to teach both of my sons how to crochet (and knit). It's comforting to know that they both now have the skills to keep themselves warm if/when needed. Hopefully they will someday have the opportunity to pass those skills along to a future generation. 😊

My grandmother taught me to knit when I was 5 years old and to crochet when I was about 8 years old. Every time I knit or crochet I think about her as I am the only grand child who was ever interested to learn the craft from her. Beautiful memories!

I learned to knit, crochet, sewing and other stuff at the age of 9. I mastered all and I loved to do all if I have the time. I started at 19. A co-worker was crocheting and I told her I like what she is making. She asked if I wanted to learn and I told her yes. She was so nice and patient and then I decided to make a baby sweater on my own. After many tears and ripping out I had a beautiful sweater and the rest is history.

11:47. I was 5 when my grandmother first showed me how to crochet. She used to do doilies which were so tiny for me. I eventually started making potholders. Love the sweater and the yarn. I was 10 yrs old when I learned how to crochet. In school (I grew up in PR) we had a period during class where we could do activities. My best friend taught me what she knew which she learned from her grandma. From then on during different periods of my life I kept acquiring different techniques from friends, internet and then KZfaq. I also have made things from my own inspiration or ideas and taught myself knitting several years ago after buying a knitting book at a yard sale for 10¢. 😊

Just want to say I love reading your emails! They always give me a little pick-me-up! 😊My mom taught me to crochet when I was around 10-ish. I'm 56 now. I'm a lefty and she didn't know how to show me to crochet with my left hand (and no KZfaq then, lol), so I crochet right-handed. I didn't crochet for years and picked it back up during the pandemic. It's exactly what I need to keep my mind and hands busy when I start to feel down. I've never crocheted a sweater or any kind of fitted garment, so this pattern will be a welcome challenge! 💜💜

I started crochet when I was 12. I was spending a few days in my Aunt's home during summer, they had a swimming pool! My grandmother, who had had a stroke, lived there, so aunts and older cousins took turns to go and care for her, and me, 12, helped with small things. One of my aunts that went there taught me crochet. My first project was a round, pink crossbody bag. From there I learned knitting, Tunisian crochet and embroidery. I love gifting projects and it really helps me stop, stay in the moment and relax! It's a therapy for me. I'm definitely making this pullover sweater, thank you for one more great pattern!

Absolutely stunning sweater and it appears to be an easy make! I learned to crochet at age 8. My mother worked at an adult care facility, referred to as a Rest Home, and during the summer I was allowed to come with her to work. I spent most of those days with the sweetest resident named Ms Spain, who taught me to crochet and knit. I am now 58, so I have been crocheting for 50 years. Wonderful childhood memories!

I learned how to crochet when I was 32. A neighbor taught me how to do a chain stitch and single crochets. I started with an entire blanket of single crochets & it was the most lopsided piece of fabric! 😂 my next set of projects was about 50 hats. I used various yarns and stitches and made every hat different in order to learn more. I donated the hats and continued to learn new techniques how to craft various types of projects (hats, scarves, fingerless gloves, blanket, and amigurumi). Today, I’m working on my first sweater & continuing my journey of learning and making! 💖✨ Thank you for this video. I appreciate the energy you share and the clear guidance you provide. 💖✨

Wow! The first time I learned crochet was when I was 6yo and wanting to do like my mom. I knitted for about 5 years and then stopped. And crocheted on and off for since 23. Now I’m fully crocheting and knitting for about 2 years. It quiets my mind. ❤

My aunt taught me to crochet when I was in elementary school. I didn't really crochet much until the last few years. I learned to spin well and make yarn and that ignited my desire to crochet again too.

When I was 12 years old my favorite Aunt Mary Jo invited me to spend two weeks in that summer with her, so she could teach me how to crochet. She only knew how to crochet from a chart, so my first experience is learning how to crochet with a chart. I have since learned so much more about all the crochet stitches and how to read patterns that don't have charts. I also love learning a new stitch from you when you present them. This will be my first garment. I am thinking of making it for me and my kids. I learned to crochet when I was 21 to cope with the loss of my grandfather that same year. It has helped me over the years and has made my kids very happy when I make things for them to kidnap later.

my mom taught me to crochet when I was around 14 and I'm 53 now so almost 40 years (wow) I wanted to make an afghan for my grandmother for christmas. It was a mix of Tunisian crochet for the middle and then it was surrounded by a big granny square pattern..I've never attempted to make a sweater, but this makes me want to try, Have a great day :)

My earliest memory was of my mom sitting me down with a hook and yarn, showing me a stitch and having me do it over and over. I don't think i was older than 8 or 9. I also remember that at first she would have to redo all my work but eventually i got really good at making even stitches. I recently picked it up again, about 4 years ago. Never had i ever read a pattern so that was totally new for me. Now my time is split between knotting and crocheting.

I started crocheting when I was 21 l. I was newly married and my husband and I had just moved across the country. He was deploying and I didn't know anyone at our new base, so I picked up a crochet hook and made a blanket for our bed while he was deployed. Thank you for your loving and kind spirit guiding us to success. I started crocheting knitting when I was about 8 or 9 years old, 1961/1962. The girls in the neighborhood started a crochet and knit club. I abandoned this art when I entered Junior High. I returned to this wonderful craft about 10 years ago. I have not crocheted or knitted a garment to date. I look forward to attempting this project. Thank you for your patient guidance.

I was little when I used to steal my mom’s hooks and some yarn and I would just make random loops. It wasn’t until I was 12 that I learned how to filet crochet from a pattern with thread yarn for doilies. I didn’t make larger projects until my twenties. Thanks for the beautiful patterns. What a lovely sweater! I enjoy your videos so much - your calming voice and positivity are soothing for the soul. I learned to knit when I was 6 years old; my mother taught me. She and my grandmother (her mother) were both very accomplished knitters. But neither of them could crochet. One year my great-aunt came to stay with us for the summer and she was a crocheter. I watched with fascination and after a few days I asked her if she would teach me and she was delighted. I must have been 9 at that point.
