Hi everyone! The 2023 Pot Holders Galore Crochet-a-long has officially started. We are kicking things off with the Stargazer Pot Holder, which uses the double crochet and front post double crochet stitch to create a beautiful sunburst design.

Thank you so much for this amazing tutorial, i love to do it but, i have a question please, can i do it with worst yarn instead of cotton yarn or, potholder should be always in cotton only, please waiting your reply to start do it.

@@sharloutkhozam2938 I'm so glad you enjoyed the tutorial! I definitely recommend cotton yarn because regular yarn like acrylic worsted will burn/melt under heat, since it's made of plastic. I've heard that you can also use 100% wool though because it is fire resistant. 🙂

I love this pattern. I just finished one using the extra rounds. It measures 7-1/2, and I would like it to be 14-1/2. Can I add the extra rounds again? Will the count work out?

You're so welcome Barbara! You should be able to because it's double thick. I know for sure that you can set scolding pots on top of it, and it won't do anything to your counters. :)

would one layer be enough for a hot pad to place a hot pot on? It is beautiful

Hi Teresa, one layer should be enough because of the thickness of the front post stitches. I just like to play it extra safe with the double layer. 😊

I think you started with a H hook but later I think you switched to a G hook. Which would you suggest? It’s such a lovely pattern!

@@barbarawilson834 good catch Barbara! I did use a different hook partway through because I misplaced mine. I recommend using a 4.0mm, but if you find that you crochet tightly and your stitches are coming out too tight, then you can trying going up to a 5.0mm, or more until you find the right hook. 😊

Hi Cherie, I completely understand! There is a stitch called the twisted single crochet that mimics the crab stitch, but it's worked differently. Moogly has a tutorial here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pr1nlKpeyq3Moas.html. You can also join them using regular single crochets. ☺

I'm kind of confused... On round 5 it seems like we are skipping over the stitches on either side of the middle stitch..?

Hi April! I’m sorry for the confusion April. We aren’t skipping any stitches. We work 1 dc into the stitch on either side of that center dc. I hope this helps! :)
