How to cross to Bimini by boat - Florida USA to The Bahamas

HOW EXCITING?!? The day is finally here...our first ever solo crossing to Bimini and of course we are taking you with us every step of the way. From getting the correct paperwork, checking the weather, running the boat, clearing customs and enjoying the beautiful island, EVERYTHING will be filmed! Our goal is for the trip to be fun but also helpful to our viewers hoping to one day make the crossing themselves!
You Will Need:
1. Get your Cruising License and Fishing Permits ⚓️ license.gooutdoorsbahamas.com...
2. Check if you need a COVID test and get your Travel Health Visa 🇧🇸www.bahamas.com/travelupdates
3. Pet Paperwork 🐶 bit.ly/3mYL9bq
4. Passports 🛂
5. Vessel Registration 🚤
6. Quarantine, Courtesy and Dive Flags 🚩
7. Fishing gear, bait, ice, food and personal supplies 😁
What You Need to Do:
1. Get required documents filled out, printed and organized!
2. Cross to Bimini.
3. When in Bahamian waters fly your yellow quarantine flag.
4. Dock your boat at Bimini Big Game Club and designate 1 person to walk to Immigration with everyones passports.
5. Walk back to Big Game Club and head to Customs Office - be sure to have your Go Outdoors Bahamas papers, pet papers, passports, health visas and vessel registration.
6. Switch your quarantine flag out with a Bahamas Courtesy Flag.
7. YOU'RE DONE! Enjoy the Island 🏝

Husband and I just got back from our vacation at Peanut Island. I called this our Almost Bimini Trip! Got out on open waters with our boat for the first time and handed so well. Now it’s time to plan for our Bimini trip 2024 :)

So funny thing… I ordered it as an Arnold Palmer the other day at chick fil a and they told me they can no longer call it that because Arnold Palmer Corp trademark the name Arnold Palmer and they now have to call it a sun joy haha

When I was sailing in the Windwards, any place we stopped the captain would take all of our passports and clear customs for the crew. Looks like it works the same in the Bahamas.

Really appreciate your great videos, specially this one as we just did our first Bimini crossing. Followed your advice and used Go Outdoors Bahamas - very easy to use; Click2Clear was confusing. No good deed goes unpunished. Bimini Customs office would not accept the Go Outdoors Bahamas paperwork - said “it’s not an official government process”. Made us do it all over there in the office. Must have gotten that one guy…. Keep up the good work - love it!

Be careful using a "rented" boat. They are typically not maintained well enough to trust for something like this. I'm referring to a boat club style rental or possibly a one-time rental from a marina. They didn't mention it, but the boat they are using is probably a demo boat from a local dealer who already does business with the GFT's. The point is, a breakdown would be a disaster, don't trust just anyone with the boat details.

Haven’t seen any of your videos before but the ole KZfaq algo popped this one up. Super clutch saying you gotta get the covid test (regardless of vaccination*) to go to the bahamas now. Was there in august and the lady at customs in West End said should be clear for next 60 days or something like that. Checked online and turns out I still gotta get tested, saved me a big headache thanks!

I get the same drink!!!!!!!!! Sugar free because of diabetes. Never heard it called a Sun Joy. Arnold Palmer is what a lot of people call it because Arnold drank his tea with lemonade. Great video!

I plan to make this trip myself, like many people from all over the U.S. I have to drive about 19 hours, and leave my truck and trailer parked somewhere. It would be great if you could give some advice on secure locations for this.

For us new ppl and new to channel , do you have to adjust anything with autopilot as far as the really strong current in the Gulf Stream? I’ve heard of people adjust several degrees one way or the other to adjust for current? Keep up the great videos with great info for us newbies!
