From what little I learn from management class is that a company has a feedback system that operates on a criteria, this is often called as the balance score card by management lingo. The question is posed as such that it gleans into information as to the criteria of how you will be assessed. Although this dude is more focused on making a lasting impression to the HR officer by making them rack their brains imagining you in their workplace.

Its a truly stupid question. They would know your the right fit cause your still working there. And lets not kid ourselves. If you apply to a place you know more or less what kind of work your going to be doing. What it comes down to, is can you do that work properly, efficiently, what are your qualifications, and what is your availability. And even then, qualifications only matter for jobs that require a college education like being a doctor, because there are so many other people trying to get the same job as you. But if your applying to your local grocery store, the only thing they really care about is your availability. If you can work full time, six days a week, including weekends, theyll hire you on the spot.

I agree 💯. It shows you are interested and can carry a conversation. You can address your additional questions at the end. You should always have questions. Research the company they love when you do your homework. It shows you care and are willing to go the extra mile.
@livinglifeleona

It's good to be picky at an interview. The conversation is both ways because you're evaluating them just as much as they are evaluating you. Chances are they already have your resume and know your background. They just want to see that you're alive, breathing, warm, and able to work while fitting in with their team. Pick up the vibe and run with it. Ask questions like "why did the last person leave this position?" and "how would you track my progress in this position so that I know I'm on track?" Be open and vulnerable so they can see you're a real person and not just someone trying to fit a mold. Get what you WANT. :)

@@SuzannaKiraly well that’s the whole idea. Whether I have been to restaurant or IT/cybersecurity interviews, I always am the one on the spot and to have a small opportunity to turn it around on them (politely) is refreshing and I love getting to hear about some of the cool things they have done to assist customers/clients. But I have been at this same cybersecurity job for a few years now and although I was under qualified, they could see an actual human who cared about his craft/skill set and wanted to apply it in a proper setting, and that I had some social skills and asked a ton of questions.

I asked a similar question in an interview. "What was it about my resume that set me apart and made you think I would be a good fit for your team?" They didn't interview all applicants. They were hand chosen by the Nurse Manager and her assistant. They both explained to me all the qualities that they were looking for that my experience gave me. The interview ended with them selling me to themselves. I got a job offer the next day. For those of you working in healthcare, you know that's rare! Good questions can make all the difference!

A job interview is an opportunity for *the company **_and_** the employer* to interview each other. People seem to forget this. You're there to interview them and ensure the job is a good fit for you too. You should ALWAYS ask questions, be confident in yourself and know you don't have to take the job if you don't want to. You have options. You're a valuable addition and any business/ company would be lucky to have you.

Lol I like how your phrasing it like. It's a new concept you've come up with and no one's ever thought of interviewing the interviewer before. Even this videos of certain ridiculous. It's human nature. You can't predict people. You do the best interview ever but you can remind them of somebody they hate or somebody they like. Interviews are no different than being pulled over by a police officer and wondering how this ticket or non-ticket is going to go. Or maybe even more reminiscent of a waitress. Some people want coffee topped off every 10 seconds and other people don't need to come back to the table ever. It is hilariously incredulous when people assume they know how to handle a social interaction.

@@TheCompdept are you some angst teenager or something? How is this even something for you to complain about. Yep. If you haven't made yourself stand out by the time they ask you for questions, you probably won't get the job anyways. I rarely ask questions at the end. And if I do, it's for some trivial matters like report times, office structure, etc. In the 13 years I've spent at my current company I've landed every single promotion I've interviewed for and didn't ask questions on like 90% of the interviews. Hell, even before I came to my current company I never asked questions on the interview and always got the job. Asking questions like these also don't help. They've heard them a million times before you, and will throw you a curveball to see if you even understand what you're asking or if you're just asking it because some guy on the internet told you it will make you sound sophisticated. 99% will fail that test, make a fool out of themselves, and screw themselves out of the job completely. You can tell by the comments how many people here haven't had a serious job, or have actually interviewed for a job with actual responsibilities. If there's one thing I would add, it's this... If you like how the interview went, and you decide that you want the job... At the end, shale the person's hand, look them in the eye and say... "Thank you for your time today, I think this went very well." Now they've envisioned you thriving in that role and the last thing said in the interview was... "This went very well."

They will usually call me back almost begging and I usually squeeze them for a much higher salary. If I see I can grow within the company I take it. If not I passed and give them suggestions. @@c10wnbaby22 I've had more than 10 jobs in the past decade but for the last 3 years I have been a general labor contractor. Being your own boss can be very rewarding but also very depressing at times. I'm now working for a co-op where I get to work on and operate heavy machinery, servicing and running the rigs that cultivate America's food supply. The pay is awesome. The folks are kind. The drive is less than a mile. The benefits are great. I just really love working hard, especially where I make an actual difference and am truly appreciated for my work ethic.

I've asked a similar pair of questions like this once, and I learned very quickly that I was much more passionate and optimistic about the industry than the folks I'd be reporting up to. It was actually pretty helpful in discerning whether or not the role would compliment my strengths and promote growth. Turned down the offer, ended up in a higher position elsewhere, and it worked out well.

I’ve done 20 interviews the past year and got a job at a top company. The comments missed the point of this video. You have to close the interview by asking for the job in some way…. “Do you have any hesitations moving forward?” “what are the next steps?” My personal favorite is “what are the qualities you look for in a top performing [role]?” then to close with “as you reflect on our conversation, how do you feel I represent those qualities?”

I usually ask the 2nd question if I don't get the job, just for my own benefit. Than apply to a similar job. People would be surprised how willing people are to help you when you show interest in their opinions or guidance, I've had post interviewers point me to similar positions within the same company or even the same job with a different company. Some people just want to genuinely help.
