Thank you for your message PAUL NTKB il share my tips here so that all can read 1. Better to put your daphnia magna outdoor so that they have sunlight whole day round 2. You dont need to put sponge filter. They are filter feeds. Since we feed yeast the sponge filter will absorb uneaten yeast that will cause the water to spoil. You only need airstone to make bubbles 3. Feed tateh fry booster i find it better than yeast 4. Make sure you have multiple ponds not just one. It is normal for daphnia culture to crash from time to time. Have a backup pond so that you can always reset when it crashes 5. Siphone uneaten food and dead daphnia at the bottom daily to make sure the water doesnt spoil 6. Daphnia culture usually crashes because of overfeeding or too populated. Make sure you feed just enough and harvest regularly. Goodluck! 🙂

ANother thing about the setup of your daphnia tanks - are these just still water? No aeration or artificial circulation? In other words this is just stagnant water exposed to bright light? Good afternoon, sir randell. I own a petshop in Bacolod City. I've attempted several times to culture daphnia magna. First time was a fail, 2nd time was very successful for a month, then bigla na lang nawala ang mga daphnia. 3rd and 4th time, I tried yung mas maliit na daphnia, i forgot d name, no success. My setup was always d same indoor concrete pond. Every morning, a portion of the pond gets hit by sunlight for an hour siguro. We fed them yeast. We put a sponge filter in d center of d pond and d bubbles were very little, like 2 bubbles/sec. Now, after watching ur video, i'm thinking of culturing them at home using a ref pond to be placed on my front yard, no roof, direct sunlight in the afternoon, no aeration. Do u think that would work. Any suggestions if my plan has flaws?
