+Awesomesauce Network, I'm having an issue modding my life. You see, I purchased the IT_NA-00345-BA Mod to get an Bachelors of Arts in Information Technology - Network Administration. However, when I went to install the module into the PCI-E 1x slot I got a driver installation error and Windows begins to BSOD. Also, nice work on the cable modifications, I should look into the pin configurations sometime myself to replace the default Corsair cable.

I used to do this hundreds of times a day for wiring control panels. I got it down to a hard science. When you crimp down the long wings, you can tell how far is far enough, because a light squeeze will produce the three clicks, don't take the end out and just guide the wire through the wings and then just crimp. When you get this down, you can do this in your sleep.

I love custom-sleeved cables for the reason that I can get different colours to match my system colour scheme. But I do not have the kind of time to do my own sleeving, so I bought the CableMod pack for my RM650 instead. I might try sleeving my own in future, if I can have a full week to do at my own pace.

You know a video is good when I basically watch it twice in a row and I'm not even going to do this. Great video. Personally, I own Silverstone white extensions, as they are extremely cheap, show no heatshrink and are amazing quality. Yes they are only one colour but it makes my build look better. If I wanted the 3 colour ones that look really bad ass like in this video, with all the tools you need and time it takes it think I would just pay the premium and get them pre-done

Very we done sir. I sleeved audio cables many years ago. Much larger cables but the idea is the same. It had to do with putting my rather high end audio gear in a very public place in the house and having the wife/girlfriend remain happy. It is funny people back then thought I was nuts until they could see the finished cables that did not stand out at all. I realize that is the opposite of why your are doing yours but the idea is still the same. I had to purchase sleeved rope back when and take the outer cover off to get the sleeves. Again, well presented and good job.

I have done a lot of this in my 10 years of USAF aircraft maintenance and the time after in the private sector. One suggestion I have is to use a solder iron to melt the sleeving material. It is more safe and accurate than a lighter. Some higher end solder irons also have a metal sleeve you can use to keep the iron cleaner for this. Also, small precut heatshrink comes in many colors and they will shrink under a heat shrink gun (like a hair dryer) will tighten and shrink in similar fashion so it is a very reliable tool. Just my experience.

I usually like sliding my sleeving just a bit further up the connector before putting the lighter to it. I find that going over the "lip" of the longer crimped prongs gives the sleeving something to latch onto when i later pull on them.
