3 жыл бұрынWhile Sony may frown upon custom plates for the PlayStation 5 console itself, a company called ColorWare is letting you customize your PS5 DualSense controller...and Sony doesn't seem to have a problem with it (so far). The easy-to-use website lets you change your PS5 controller's color scheme, from the handles, to the buttons, and even the touchpad in the center that no one uses. We made our own videogame-themed Cyberpunk and God of War PS5 controllers, and also some Star Wars-inspired designed and a surprisingly good-looking Spongebob and Patrick Star set. But, all this freedom is going to cost you, roughly twice what a standard PlayStation 5 DualSense costs.

To be fair not too many games made use of it other than being a pause/map button. Ghost of Tsushima actually made it one of the most used buttons and I hope later PS5 games make use of it.

@@fgip358 i just got a latop that could afford. I wish gotten something more powerful. I downloaded several nexus mods for skyrim like a archery overhaul mod. Pop is terrible on certain settings and cant seem to make the game look even 10% as some of these skyrim mod KZfaqrs.

I mean I guess it's not too crazy if it's like $110 because that's like a $70+tax controller and they likely paint them themselves so like $3-12 worth of paint plus the labor and shipping. It's not too crazy I guess.. but me personally, I'd rather just paint it myself. I'd probably just take the white out shell off and paint it black or red and just leave the rest the way it is.. and pain the white ps5 side panels the same color.

Just some feedback. I have tried the STICKY BUNNY sticker on my DualSense. To be honest, you need to be super careful while installing. I am sure you will mess it up the first time if you are not used to it.

I’ve been a customer of colorware since 2014 when I bought a PS4 and xb1 controller. They are still going strong. My ps5 and series x controllers from them are due for delivery tomorrow in the same colorway.

I've used d-brand and decalgirl for console and controller skins before. Yes, skins and wraps are cheaper, but full-on part replacement like what ColorWare does look nicer, IMO. One extra bonus of using skins is you can take them off, though.

I believe the reason Sony shut down the custom side panel businesses is because A) They will probably sell their own official side panels, eventually, and B) It's to make sure they have enough plastic side panel materials for the base (white) consoles given the inherent supply shortages. Controllers are smaller, and it's just paint versus large side panels that are cast in the custom colors.

It’s cool but IMO not worth. Extra 39$ for something purely cosmetic. That money could’ve went towards a different game and anyways you’re going to burn through a lot of controllers if you play a lot.

"this place called colorware is now offering..." LMFAO they've been available since the PS5 was launched. I have 3 DS4's from them. Techno/Lightning, Dragon/Sand and White/Red. The last one had a bad paint job around the analog stick that was chipped out the box but overall they do a great job. However I'm still sad they removed a bunch of colors from their lineup a few [?] years ago. That Dragon/Sand combo is no longer available...

Can’t shut down color ware because they bought the controllers so Sony made thier money. The plates were never for sale to customize that’s why they canned it.
