This is incredible! Do you have any tips for simple faceting?
@aresshahumyan18212 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Well... that's the challenge of faceting ,it has to be done correctly in order to get that shine and reflection we are looking for....so the only way to make it more simple is to learn more about it and buy more expensive tools .

Hello! Great video! What is the blue buffing compound you use at the end? Did you buy it or make it?
@aresshahumyan18213 жыл бұрын
Hey .thanks. Yes i made it but it is not anything special a simple alumina oxide poliahing compound . You can use silicon free car polish instead.

Hello...do you think this method would work on a little harder stone like emerald? Thank you
@aresshahumyan18213 жыл бұрын
Hardness is not an issue here but rather the fact emeralds are brittle and break apart therefore i don't recommend this method for emeralds.

@aresshahumyan18214 жыл бұрын

@Dfg Sdfg first use a saw to make it as round as posible than use a diamond plate used for faceting (100-400)and spin it to get a perfect round ...and than use sand papers to smooth out the scratches . I hope you find this helpful. Thanks for watching

@@aresshahumyan1821 oh great, does it matter which kind? I've been using gorilla super glue gel for setting stones.
@aresshahumyan18213 жыл бұрын
@@jg1019 Not realy as long as it's a CA kind of super glue it should be fine. If the stone dose not stay on keep in mind the most important part is to have a clean surface .try using a solvent like acetone to clean and degrease both the stone and the dop in this case the nail and you should be good to go.

I personaly like to go on a trip to find my own gemstones but you can find them both on local markets and online as well. I recomend searching on online marketplaces for them and if you are looking for something to practice on consider buying lab made rougth since they are cheap and easy to work with.

@aresshahumyan18214 жыл бұрын
Well it took more time for the video since i had to film it in reality every stone takes 5-6 minutes to cut this way . In order to preform the stones fast dop them in the same way and use a CBN or a diamond imbeded faceting disk rakes less that 10 seconds.
