I have tried for years to get this haircut. At least 6 different hairdressers refused to do it. Maybe this is the time for my short mullet!

@@Momofix. same for me. I generally stopped going to hairdressers more than 10 years ago because they either refuse or they say yes but you never get what you ask, so I would arrive home and have to get the scissors out myself after having spent money so I have had it. Normally they refuse this kind haircuts because they are not comfortable with such short layers at the top and maintaining such long length. Some hairdressers don’t know how to make the transition from short to long look good and they are scared that the client even tho asked for such short layers, isn’t going to like it

@@yoursugarismine I've had the same problem. I've been told I can't have the layers I want and keep the length. So I told her cut my hair as short as it needs to be to get the layers and I still didn't get the layers ! Im convinced the hair schools don't teach how to cut layers anymore or the stylist was close to failing hair school .. now I'm on KZfaq to learn how to cut my own hair ..

@@kimberlymarie3651 the majority of hair stylists always get asked for the Same cuts so as soon as you ask for something different like this they don’t know how to do it. If you go to a big city they are more experienced at different cuts but if you go to your local town where they cut hair to old ladies etc then no chance. I’m tired of not getting what I want and I now know how to cut it myself so I only go to a hair stylist if I know he is good at alternative ppl haircuts. You can try looking on instagram and you could find someone good near you. I found one but is 3 hrs away so I can’t go very often, only sometimes.

Some ppl hate mullet while others love it. The people in the comments saying it looks horrible don't get it. You did an amazing job explaining and i personally think it looks super cool .don't listen to the haters

The shape came out really nice! Thanks for simplifying this cut for people to do at home. I cut my own curtain bangs after watching you but they've grown out now and I'm considering other tweaks for my hair.

I section off my hair using this guide, but leave all parts much longer; it doesn't look like a "mullet", it works for me, Thank you Paul Watts!!! 😃😃😃😃

I'm about to get a mullet after something like 7 years of growing out my hair. I'd like a mullet much shorter on top with a bit more length in the back. I'd also like the 80s or 90s steps cut on the sides. I have a lot of hair to work with and just don't trust many barbers or hair stylists so I'd love to have a video to show them before they start cutting!

I saw the bang/fringe section& flashed back to 2019 when my daughter placed scissors flat against her hair& cut. Her hair was in a bubble braid from her bang/fringe area to the end which was waist length. Fortunately she just had some silly bangs for a few months& she’s been stuck on a blunt bang ever since.

I dont doubt you as a hairdresser, but I was never crazy about mullets. Only certain people look great in them. I would never be able to pull this off myself. I do however, liked your shag/wolf cut tutorials. You make it so easy for people at home.

Has hair salon 50 yrs. I cut these similar only back all 1 length for girls. Like Olivia Newton-John concert Check her out. Her sides not very short just sprayed back close. Proud of you. Nice technique

Last December i was trying to get a mullet wolf haircut but the hairdresser told me if im gonna ba able to maintain the hair. like of course, its my dream hair.. But she didn't do it like it should be. Im so disappointed cause i paid too much for a hair style that i dont like..
