A useful shortcut: Oftentimes if you've started with a rectangular piece of paper, you probably created the square by folding the original rectangle diagonally and cutting off the excess, creating what I'll call the main diagonal fold. In this case, you can skip the step starting at 0:45 since the resulting intersection of the first and second reference fold will be the same as the intersection between the first reference fold and the main diagonal fold.
