I show how I facet a Standard Round Brilliant gemstone using a diagram and meet point faceting. This video should be helpful to those learning faceting. maxfieldlapidary.etsy.com/lis...

That is the way I cut a round brilliant. That stone finished at 8.9mm and 2.78 carats.

What is the approx $ to buy the equipment to be able to do this caliber of craftsmanship. I'm considering taking this up as a profession. Thanks

Hey Matt, I am a new cutter, having cut 7 stones so far. I think I have watched every faceting video on KZfaq. This video shows details that no one else has shown. thanks

What is the smallest stone that can be faceted on this machine? I found some garnets and sapphires but they are around 3mm and I wonder if I can use such machine to facet them in a convenient way?
@CraigConnorsАй бұрын
Are the lap discs all the same thickness or do you have to adjust for the variances? Great information. Beautiful job!!
@MattsCornerofGemCuttingАй бұрын
They are all different thicknesses. The mast height is adjusted when changing laps, lowering the stone to lightly touch the lap.

I have three stones that I would like cut, not sure what they are. Found them at the crater of diamonds. Might be some kind of volcanic glass
