So happy to see this video. I have some Cricut chipboard that I haven’t tried the knife blade on, now I can do this soon, I hope.

I have been wondering for a while about this, but I would like to get a cricut maker to be able to cut wood to make wooden key rings and pins. Would chip board be to thin and fragile to be used as items like this? If so, what wood would you recommend? I am so confused on what to use but I love making homemade items for my store and not get them made else where. Please help! Thank you!

Is the passes set automatically when you select heavy chipboard? have you got a video explaining the different knives as I have a few now but I don't know what they are or what I can use them for?

I'm so glad I have found your videos! I just got a Cricut. I tried to make monogram letters for our stockings with chipboard, and it started looking awful and tearing. It's a brand new knife blade right out of the package. Any advice on what I did wrong? Thanks!
@MakersGonnaLearn3 жыл бұрын
Hello! So you have to be careful with things like that as letters that are detailed at all has issues cutting. We recommend cutting larger images with chipboard as it doesn't do well with smaller more detailed things. Basic shapes 5" and more do well, but other than that, we've had lots of project fails with it too!! Here is a live stream of Tanner showing 2 different ways you can make them and give them that "wood" look. Feel free to skip around because it is a long video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oMV0Y6-GsJuwYHk.html

Hey, Tanner! How long do your knife blades typically last? How many projects do you typically get out of your blade?
@MakersGonnaLearn3 жыл бұрын
Hello! This is a good question. We don't know the exact number of projects you can get out of a blade, because it all depends on how often you use it and what materials you're cutting with it. Some materials are harder on the blade than others. Also you'll notice your blade being dull if it has completed all of the passes on something basic like a circle, and it still hasn't cut all the way through. At that point it might be time to change your blade. If it helps, we don't have to change ours often...

You cannot. Chipboard requires the Knife Blade which is only compatible with the Cricut Maker and its Adaptive Tool System

What's the difference between the deep point blade and the knife blade? With more intricate cuts should you use the deep blade on chipboard
@MakersGonnaLearn4 жыл бұрын
Good question! The deep point blade is only for super thick card stock, transparency, etc. Materials that are thicker but still thin enough that you don't need that 10x cutting pressure of the Cricut Maker. The deep cut blade can be used with the Explore Air 2 as well, while the Knife Blade can only be used in the Cricut Makers' Adaptive Tool System. The deep cut blade cannot cut chipboard.

I need help with my new Cricut Maker (newbie here). I am wanting to cut 2mm chipboard, I have the strong grip mat and the “knife blade + housing” that was recommended on Cricut. I have ruined two mats because the blade is cutting too deep. What do I do?
@MakersGonnaLearn3 жыл бұрын
That is odd!! What I would recommend is to check your cuts when its about half way through and see if it's already cut through, which might be your issue. Your Knife Blade might be super sharp.

I bought my Cricut Maker. First time we tried to cut the Cricut vinyl both HTV and regular. I tried to add more pressure and after three blades, got frustrated and it’s still sitting on my desk and never been used. I bought it originally bc was waiting for chipboard to come out. I attempted to use the knife blade and chipboard to make a cake topper for my upcoming wedding. Some of the thinner pieces of the design came out super rough and chewed up. Do you have any tips on how I can prevent this? I love the design I made and I don't want to change it.
@rachellangston5 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, we don't recommend using the knife blade on more intricate projects because it does tend to shred. Tyr a heavy cardstock or Cricut Kraft Board. It won't be as durable as chipboard but it will do the job :)
@chelseycreed16965 жыл бұрын
