Thank you for the lessons. I have called the company that installed my roof four times and left messages that I would pay cash. I was able to repair my ridge with your help. Many thanks Danny Harrel Wilson NC

OMG, that was stupid simple! And when I skeptically went out on the driveway and blasted through the first bundle, I was shocked at how easy it was. Thank you for the exceptionally clear explanation of how to do this. And it is truly the sign of a master who knows his craft and then shows others how to do it.

When I took the Michigan Builder's test, one of the questions pertained to this. I've never shingled a hip roof so I didn't know that you cut the ridge caps on an angle. Very informative so thank you!

Thank you, that was a great teaching video. Not sure why anyone would leave you thumbs down. They must be roofers and are either jealous or have their own way to cut caps. All I know is, you are really good and have helped me save time caping my daugthers 15/12 pitch playhouse/cabin ridge. Thank you

Thanks so much, you covered everything nicely for us non-pros to understand. Your method is probably 20 times faster than my (formerly) straight-blade, one-by-one method.

The Magic starts at 2:30. That was amazing! Your slanted-stack slicing method is so efficient and Brilliant! Thanks for sharing your experience! I've roofed, or helped roof a couple dozen roofs in Missouri and I've never seen that trick before! I'm installing Tamko ridge shingles right now. I split them apart and into stacks and used my 4 inch angle grinder with diamond blade (best tool ever!) to trim corners on 6 at a time. Took 8 minutes for my first pack. Surprisingly, they have no center top slit or marker that I can find, so I just made a little notch in my OSB cutting base and notched all 6 right in the center in 1 second.

Those are some great tips for speedy production and technique for a nice finish. FYI this video doesn't show up in your uploads on your channel page. I checked your page for more roofing tips and didn't see it. I hope you have some more roofing tips to share. Thx

Like Hip and ridge cap are the same? What is the dif.thanks for sharing
@isidrosandoval6975 жыл бұрын
The hip and ridge shingles are the same. But on a roof they are different. The ridge will be parallel with the house Foundationand the hip will start at the bottom of your roof where two corners meet at the drip edge (eve) and goes up to meet with the ridge. Hope this helps

Imo it takes longer than if just cut them only middle part. Also ive been using circular saw for awhile and it take about 1min per bundle.1 blade from harbor freight last about 12 bundles of decent speed cut and if its gum up between blade and safety guard i just clean it up with steel piece while its warm.otherwise it gets stuck and need some blows to shatter it.

Never cut up 3 tab as ridge cap. It's not ridge cap. This is one of the problems in the industry and why insurance companies are under paying.
