You can cycle from Kensington in west London to London Bridge just south of the river entirely on quiet streets and protected cycle lanes.
The route is 9.3km long (5.8 miles) and makes use of Cycleway 3, Hyde Park, and the new cycle lanes on London Bridge.
The journey takes around 30 minutes to ride, which is a little bit quicker than by public transport, which requires a change of train.
If you find this video useful or you just enjoy watching it please remember to hit the bell icon and subscribe to the channel, as I try to post new ones like it every week.

You can see a digital map of the route and download a GPS/GPX file to use on whatever device or app you want here: www.komoot.com/tour/941126225...
And you can find a map of all the London Cycle Routes videos here. Thanks to John Levermore for keeping this up-to-date: www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?...

Great video as always! I like how I can predict what paths you're gonna use, I've seen the Embankment a lot at this point ;-) Their does seem to be an awful lot of mixing of cycles and foot traffic in London. The toucan (twocan?) crossings are frankly a bit bizarre from a Dutch perspective. Just.. sync bike and ped lights, but have them be on different paths? Seems safer. Also, for Horseguards, retractable bollards might be a solution. Bollards that certain vehicles can force to retract into the ground, so they can pass. Quite common for buses and local traffic here.

Haha yes I do always wonder whether people will get bored of seeing some of the same stretches again but configured in different ways! But doesn't seem to be the case yet. And yes I agree with you about mixing bikes and pedestrians, the Dutch way is a lot better. I think one thing in the UK is that they do put separate cycle and pedestrian signs in if the cycles will end up on their own cycle path, but often they're not actually connecting to proper cycle paths, so having separate signals is of limited usefulness. (But of course, they should be building their own paths). That's also a good point about retractable bollards, maybe a decent option - I think they actually use them on Downing Street itself behind the gates as well. Though really a sign that just says 'no motor vehicles' and an enforcement camera like in some LTNs should work well too.

I really wish RBKC would do more and consult with those of us with disabilities. That cobbled road start and stupid gate don't work, tho I did come down that road when they locked the park early during covid and locked us all in the park with our bikes no warning... I like south of Hyde Park but the cycle lane down from marble arch into the park needs work more it terrifies me especially in the dark. On Sundays I have trained myself to cycle from the palace around the roundabout into Belgravia to get home. I often find roads better than fiddly bike infrastructure. I don't like the left turn from big Ben to the cycle path and tiptoe, but then that path is great up till the bend in cable st. There is a lift on the left for people that struggle with hills x

But I had one of my worst journeys on Saturday,as didn't cycle last week as flat to pack up, was in A LOT of pain so cycle to get blood moving only kings road was grid locked ALL of it. I got from the Albert bridge to world's end okay, tho you can't be on the left there or you get trapped behind cars and Don't care about running into you, so you have to stay mid Lane and cars don't like that either. But world's end to lotts road is the WORST, 4 lanes of cars not an inch for a bike, I thumped the car in front of me and told them to shift over so I could at least tiptoe with my bike they refused so I started nudging the wing mirrors to get past. I don't see why we should tolerate FOUR lanes of cars. I lose it on that corner. And they are no better on the approach to the Chelsea bridge with more river works, single file for 30 seconds do they care no they straight go around you into oncoming traffic. Embankment, king's road, Fulham road, old Brompton road, Kensington high Street, are ALL AWFUL 😞 I've written to Greg hands, he is never going to do anything about any of it, useless man x

Thank you for the route, we really want to do it, I’d love to ride the segregated stuff, and see all these great sights, but somehow have to get our e-bikes, dog and ourselves up to Kensington from Devon. I’ve ridden to Kew from Walton on Thames before, but that was a very long journey for us including the return. I’d be glad of any suggestions.

You could rent a bike in London! either a Lime bike or a TfL one, both have some electric ones now. though am not sure how dog friendly they are if you need special kit!
