Learn how to dance a triple cha-cha lock step in this Howcast dance video.
Aaron: Hi, guys. It's Aaron.
Christina: And I'm Christina.
Aaron: Here again with Dance Time Square in New York City. And today we're going to be talking about the triple cha cha locking action in our cha cha.
What we're going to do here today is we're going to start with our basic action, starting with our left foot again, and one, two, three, forward, lock, forward. Forward, lock, forward. Forward, lock, forward. And rock, step, back, cross, uncross, back, cross, uncross, back, cross, back, and rock, step, starting again with our basic action. Side, together, side. And one more time. One, two, three, four. And one, two, and three, four, and one, two, three, four, and one, two, and three, four, and one, two, three, cha cha, one.
And that's how you do the triple cha cha locking action in your cha cha.

That is the best instructional dance video I have ever seen. The music was relevant, the procedure was clear, the filming was excellent & the quality (sound/picture) was very good. Also your technique appeared to be right (I am a novice though) as a result I have subscribed - thank you :)

Important points to remember, which are in the video but not stated outright: 1) The guy leads this from open position (two-hand hold), not closed position, and 2) The lead comes from the guy rotating his body (left, then right, then left again) while still moving forward, so that he *has to* lock-step, and so if he leads the girl to rotate her body as well, she will *have to* do the lock step also. (He could just whisper, "Do a triple lock-step next!", but a good lead is much smoother.)

Her feet and legs are like thorns in a dancers eye..somebody should go and buy a very specific red little book (Walter Laird) :) Anyway- thumbs up for their attitude and teaching skills - they actually seem very nice despite her level of dancing :-)

As a professional I must say, they are not good. Here are some tips they dont do and you should! 1. Your standing leg should always be straight, unless told. 2. The music in this video is almost half the speed of a normal cha-cha. (Not litterally) 3. Never lift your feet, unless told .(some pro-dancers do this.)

1. Only in International. If they're doing American, which many beginning students do, the standing leg should be bent. 2 and 3 I agree with. I just wanted to clarify that.
