How to deactivate traction control on Vw e-up (dyno mode)

In most gasoline Volkswagen cars you can disable the traction control by performing this steps:
1. Turn on the Ignition
2. Turn on the hazard lights
3. Press the gas pedal 5 times
4. Start the car
It is the same way on the Volkswagen e-up (It should also be the same with Seat Mii electric or Skoda Citigo iv).

This mode is intended for use on a test bench, so it should be automatically deactivated as soon as the rear axle rotates. I have tested this with an e-up from 2020 and a normal up from 2012, with both the mode is immediately deactivated when you start driving.

Just successfully used this to climb a snowy hill by repeating this procedure about 10 times in a row. Managed to go 2-3 meters further for each cycle, before the traction control kicked back in and killed the power. 2015 E-Up! I can’t figure out why VW didn’t make a button to turn if the TC, like in every other VW… This car is effectively useless in the snow.

Thanks u, same for my car the mode is disabled when i drive. Is there a solution to disable the traction control if we don't have the button ?

Traction off is usefull for uphill when on snow. If road is slippery, you can not climbe couse traction is shutting off power.it should be a button for that. Every car i did own had a button for turning of traction.

Could you try to use a gas generator to charge the car? You could test how efficient it is and it might be useful somewere where you have no access to electricity. Is it possible to drive the car while charging?

No it is not possible to charge while you are driving. I prefer to make it solar charge instead of generator. I am pretty sure it will work if the gas generator is with pure sine wave.

Can you do burnouts now? I mean, it doesn't really work for the Citigo iV. It goes into Dyno Mode, but when you accelerate and pull the handbrake it goes automaticaly into Park and shuts off the motor. Is this a problem only with the automatic version? I've seen people do burnouts with the manual Up! on KZfaq. For example: =vI7pu7FN7UY.

the use of doing this? when you drive on a road with a lot of snow?

It may give us some range potentially. But we have to test this. The other use is if you test the car limits and drift in snow for example.

If stuck in snow and you think ESP is blocking your option to spin wheels to wiggle back and forth until you get over the hop, then deactivating traction control is the way you get out

Which sound do you mean? If you mean the warning pedestrians sound (en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_vehicle_warning_sounds) then I don’t have it and I can’t help with that.

@@tedonash2681 New eUP 2020 has the e-sound. Temp disable is trough settings in car setup (dashboard). I don't know how to permanently disable it or if it is even possible this way (without looking under the hood ;) ).

@@tedonash2681 Open bonnet, disconnect loudspeaker, insert 1W 8Ohm resistor to car side of leads, not to the speaker. All done.

I CAN SEE THE POTENTIAL USE OF THIS IN NORMAL SUNNY SUMMERTIME CONDITIONS WHEN TRACTION DOES NOT NEED ASISTANCE, LIKE WE USED TO DRIVE OUR CARS SO MANY YEARS IN THE PAST JUST FINE WITHOUT ANY ELECTRONIC HELP, BUT ONLY IF IT BRINGS SOME EXTRA RANGE BY SAVING THE BATTERY A LITTLE. THE BIG QUESTION THEN IS: DOES BRING ANY HELP WITH THE RANGE ? MAYBE WE COULD TEST THAT. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR VIDEOS.

Good point. I will test it when the weather is better and see if it give us some range benefits.
