A tale as old as time. It seems like everyone has "A story of the angry neighbor", and this one is mine...

I guess the moral of the story is anyone can be professional when conditions are easy. It was good practice to be professional with an unhappy neighbor for the inevitable time a client is unhappy. Side note on Vic I think he got more angry when I didn't! Thanks for filming another one of my jobs Zach it's always a fun day.

Some people just want to be angry. They will even be angry when you aren't angry at them being angry. Does that make sense?😊

Absolutely! My experience with angry folks has always ended best woth being quiet and listening and responding gently. They tend to get embarrassed and apologize later. You just gotta be willing to wait for it.

Thats awesome! I'm glad to hear you're satisfied! I really like it too. I kinda want to compare it to the husky. I think they both have their place, but the milwaukee is more cost effective I think. And you're right, it is. Especially when we change rope diameter and bollard diameters/materials rather often.

I was leaning towards the Husqvarna, but just don’t use it enough to warrant getting into that platform. So I just picked up the new dewalt 60v top handle since the kit came with two 9 amp hour batteries which will work in my other tools. Haven’t climbed with it yet, but have used it on the ground a few times, and all I can say is wow. First battery saw, and I couldn’t believe the chain speed and torque. @@zaccheus I was just commenting on this trucks pro's. The older trucks, like most anything else were built with longevity in mind, NOT "planned obsolesces." (Easy to tell sign: Look at the frame. This truck's frame looks like a BATTLEAXE~! Short/thick/overbuilt. The even OLDER trucks were surprisingly built by Dodge, stodgy style, but the designs were simple "Brute Force"! (Hmm, that's a good name for a Punk Rock band, Lol!) Your buddy KNOWS his trucks. 4-wheel drive WITH rear duelies?... FORGEDABOUDID! With that black, I'd name her "NIGHTMARE". (Remember dude, a truck like that is worthy of a kick-ass name, DON'T forget this shit I'm tellin' ya'!) Now I truly don't mean to seem overly skeptical...but...from my very limited interactions with you, I just find it hard to believe you would've come down very hard on the neighbor. How are you liking the Milwaukee battery saw? We currently use a couple of Echo's, the CS-355T and the battery DCS-2500T. The battery saw gets most of the use now. Considering getting the Milwaukee just to compare. I know it is heavier but it typically ranks higher in most reviews.
@zaccheus
@zaccheus Ай бұрын
I like it! I'm pretty sure it's heavier than my 201 and probably doesn't cut faster than it. But I don't have to start it annddd I can cut big wood with it which makes it perfect for crane work when I need ti be able to talk to the operator while cutting

Should climb rope above the sling in case it slips?
@zaccheus
@zaccheus Ай бұрын
Excellent consideration! If you are in a smooth bark tree that is more likely to slip, it's definitely something to consider. I have seem lanyard pop off of the top of a spar too so by having both tie in points above the sling you don't have any real captured tie in point. You'll also probably have to have your lanyard and climbing rope pretty close and that kind defeats their redundancy against saw cuts. I guess you have to evaluate the situation and determine what is the safest for that scenario.

@zaccheus
@zaccheus Ай бұрын
I knocked the rakers down a bit and cut the anti kick tabs off with a grinder. I also discovered that I must have weakened one of the makers with the grinder because it broke off. I think that's why it was so jumpy. This saw hasvery limited chain options because it runs the Oregon 0.325 pitch low pro. I'd really like to find a full chisel non safety chain beciase I think it would do way better woth the slower chain speed.

Fair perspective. I think there is a lot of value in building a positive reputation with your name on it. The more people see your name around town, the more they will feel comfortable calling.
