I was in a 20 year marriage. She began treating me like crap: cold, distant, disdainful. My trust went out the window. Figured she was sleeping with someone else. Then she became violent to both our daughter and I. I stayed through 2 long years to keep the daughter safe till she graduated HS and went off to college. Soon after the daughter left for college, I packed all my stuff in 4 hours and left. I had called in a team of movers. The wife was remorseful and wanted me back. I proceeded with the divorce.

I'd agree: never try to revive a failed romance. BUT I will say this: I dated a girl for 3 years, loved her insanely (too much really compared to who she turned out to be) and she reciprocated, so we thought we where going the distance, or at least I thought so. She had other plans though, and we broke up. I was lost and couldn't figure out why it fell apart. 6 months later we took another crack at it, and 1,5 years later it went to shit, and this time for good. And this time I had no misgivings about who she really was (a crazy, egotistical narcissist who was completely incapable of self-reflection and empathy... Avoid these people at all costs!!!!). The point is this: I got closure. The amazing, beautiful, sexy, fun girl I thought dumped me the first time around, turned into an ugly, horrible witch the second time. I don't think I'd have recovered, if I didn't get the chance to "see her" for real. Proceed at your own risk though... It's a dangerous strategy for closure, but it worked out in my case.

@@chosen1one67 Ha! I did the same thing. Like the brainwashed idiot I was, I kept going back for another round of devaluation and discard. The last time I let her back in knowing full well what was coming. I played her while she played me. Predictably she executed her most masterful and brutal discard. I let it unfold as a sacrificial lamb - eyes wide open. The dust has settled and, I'm born again hard. My relationship with this psychopath was an aberration. But I came out the other side and I am much, much stronger for it. Dangerous strategy for sure, but I had to have pure clarity as to what sort of replicant I was dealing with. I was not her man. I was her hostage and supply. But now...I'm a FREE MAN.

You can never build anything solid with someone you don't trust. As painful as it is, accept it and move on, otherwise you are simply wasting your time and prolonging the pain that is about to come your way. Learnt this the hard way. The best thing you can do is learn to break up like a man and move on (no calling and texting them - cut all ties). Start your new life without them and rebuild.

1. That little voice in your head is usually right so listen up. 2. If you maintain a dominant frame there will be no question as to whether or not you can trust her. She will be constantly trying show you why she deserves to hitch her wagon to your star. If she's not doing that for you, then she's either doing it for someone else or keeping an eye out for someone she can do it for.

My first girlfriend has gone this way. We had a chat 20 years on, she can only remember the sex....... not the other things........ I must of been good in bed back then lol, I think chasing women its a bit like playing chess with a blindfold, the impossibility is tremendous, but it is diminished by the perception of a women. Guatama refered to this that nothing obsesses, the mind more than the sight, sound, smell, touch, taste, of a women. Vice versa for the ladies aswell. Attraction is a very strong habit which cannot be controlled because we have been doing it for a long long long long time.........

As soon as a woman leaves you for another man it is futile to try to get her back. She is like a cat and chasing her will just make her run away farther. Her heart is no longer for you. She is done, love her enough to let her go and be happy that she found a better partner for her needs due to better compatibility and feel that u are still good just not compatible with her hypergamy needs

Richard, I was married for ten years (tied the knot right out of high school because we were good Christians and all that jazz), divorced about a year ago and I am very, very tentatively looking to start dating. I don't even really know where to begin, having never dated anyone or really even been single since the onset of puberty. It's a really intimidating idea- I've realized that I have been oblivious of the games people play with each other and the way that men and women operate in dating situations. It really seems as though it's a competition or a battle from the very beginning- all these shit tests and hoops to jump though. I digress- I don't know how I've come across your channel, but the past few days I've binge-watched most of your relationship videos, and I want to thank you for a really interesting window into a man's brain and for the insight that I will definitely be utilizing as I try to figure out what sort of woman I want to grow into and the kind of man I would like to be with. So, thank you.

I agree, once you break up, new is always better. Any time when you go back to ex, it will be always a drama, problems, resentment of the thing you broke up or something else that did not work in relationship. It is hard, I am not saying you should hate your ex, no, you should remember the good and the bad(the bad, so you do not repeat the same mistakes), wish them luck and move on.

The reason we can have trust issues is because we don't trust ourselves. We allow the words coming out of someone's mouth to dictate how we feel about a certain situation instead of listening to our own voice/intuition/guidance. We can get mad at people who lack integrity all we want, but at the end of the day we are the ones who are lying to ourselves by believing them even when we know deep down something feels off. The less intune we are with ourselves, the easier it is to get strung along and played like a puppet by deceptive people.

I have a good experience with a slightly different approach... Give everyone a chance to proof themself at the beginning, while you test them for their character and you are NOT trusting them. Once you personally feel fine, you can start trusting someone new in your life. If you not trusting anyone in general, that's pretty bad for your health. I'd rather try and put trust into someone and get rewarded then not trusting anyone at all. I am always considering the fact that it might not work out and that this new person might be a douche. But there is nothing that i can do about it. The only thing i can make is rules for the relationship. And if someone doesn't comply, i don't have to stay.

I would suggest to see humans as their are. Trust people only to the level as they have earned it. Yet just don't forget the nature itself of trust. There is no one you can trust. Be even critical of yourself. We do so many things that are quite often not in our best interest. Just keep your eyes open. People can surprise you. Especially if they have some sort of "business" with you.

Sniff out that she's lying, and simply call her on it. Tell her you expect honestly and no games, and if she bounces, she bounces. I'm in my late 40s and know for a fact a lot of women simply never grow up. They are all about control, and it gets tiring really quick. So I say "OK, you win. I'm out." Then they realize they failed as I walk away. Nobody needs that.

How I deal with it is going back to when I was younger. I had an abundance mindset. I didn’t realize that when I was younger. But I didn’t care if a woman cheated on me or whatever. I was able to move on by still doing what I wanted and if she betrayed me I just walked away with no issues and spent my time with someone or something else. When I got older I had forgotten that. But it still applies today. Your time is the most valuable thing you can give to yourself or anyone. Don’t waste it looking for trouble. And definitely don’t waste it on someone who doesn’t value it.

Something very important I've learned about trust is to not make someone pay for another person's mistreatment of you. Not only is it not fair, all you really end up doing is mistreating them first. Keep in mind that most people have the same deal breakers in relationships. Instead of obsessing about it, extend the trust a new person deserves, they already know what not to do. If they choose to break that trust, leave. No talking things out, they already knew. It's a lot less stressful and simpler that way

I solved a shit ton of problems by choosing to give staying single a try. The first few years were tricky but I got used to it. A few years later singlehood had become so easy and comfy I decided to abolish dating altogether, that was 5 years ago. It's not for everyone but it is an option and it keeps me perfectly content. I have always been independent and cherished my alone time so it was not a terribly big step for me. There may come a day when I regret the choice or change my mind but for now my interest in a relationship is just not there.

This reminds me of a story of a workmate of mine who divorced the same women twice. First divorce she was not happy with the settlement and they ended up getting back together. Ended up remarrying. While he was out of town on business, he went to the ATM to pull out some money. To make a long story short, she drained all of the money out of all their joint accounts while he was out of town. Moral of the story, there is a reason why people break up, and it usually isn't wise to restart a relationship. Great advice on the energy is better invested starting a new relationship. I need to by the book "The rationale male", sounds like it would have saved me a lot of headaches.

I realized I only experienced trust issues of my own with a s/o in the past simply because I hadn’t done enough work to build as much value in myself as I would have liked. It had nothing to do with the other person. I just needed to improve myself so I felt secure in who I was.

I generally walk into any relationship whether intimate or business, with a mindset where I give freely of my trust. The other person either maintains that level or works their way downhill from there. Perhaps this is naive but unless I get an immediate, visceral, gut feeling that this person is shady AF, I tend to give the benefit of the doubt. Also, there is much to be said about instinct or gut feeling, but unless you actually have red-handed proof or evidence, you can never accuse someone merely based on a hunch or suspicion. Especially in an intimate relationship. You will destroy that relationship if you are wrong and the other person may view your accusations as projection and now not trust you! If you really feel strongly about your gut feeling....walk.

I played on just staying with her for 2 weeks till I found a place...cause I moved near closer to her for a job...when I tried to move out she got all pissed saying it was just back peddling the relationship....so I agreed to stay....man that was 14 months of fighting. Richard, thanks for your videos. I'm 28, single, and crafting the rest of my life by spending a lot of time what it is I actually want to do with my day. I don't need a lot of money, the American dream, etc. I just want to gain wisdom patiently and explore the beauty of nature, ancient wisdom, and becoming a musician/therapist. I've even mentioned the red pill to my mom and she is very open to men's view of the constant warfare between the sexes because she knows how 'clever' she's been with my dad and her current husband. Anyway, I feel so glad there's a community out there speaking up for a man's journey in this society. My conscience doesn't love the p&d approach, and I'm wondering if sex is worth it at all.... feel me?

I was with this one girl for 8 months, and around the two month mark I began to notice how her behavior would change, even down to how she would speak. I had a feeling something was off or that she was talking to multiple other guys, which she was. Likewise, I changed up my behavior, but I did so with mini goals in mind to see if I can pick up the smaller details to make up the full picture for the rest of the time I spent with her. I didn’t want to jump to conclusions, so I enjoyed what good came out of it until I finally painted the picture, went on a whim, and fished to see if I can get the truth out of her. Confident in my progressive understanding of what was going on behind the scenes I confronted asking who she was speaking to, and evidently got my answer. From that point on I haven’t been in contact with her since, almost 6 months now!

The Bible says: A wife of noble character is her husband's crown, but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones. Boys think twice be choosing a wife, also if you bang around be serious to what you do and count always with consequence. means if you not giving seroiusity to relationship she will leave you for better opportunity. But be also kind of men women would want to have a relationship with, it will makes your life so easy

Trust issues & abandonment issues go hand and hand. I would say I typically have very low trust issues with men I have been in relationships with, only recently were my boundaries too low & I let the wrong men in too closely and they just proved all my "trust issues" correct. Which hence, gives me some solid trust issues now. lol. I dealt with it by asking him about it, I can be very direct in that way. Anyhow, I would highly recommend working on your own personal growth in all areas to reduce any and all levels of insecurity in your life, the more developed, accomplished, insightful and secure you are as an individual the better partner you are for someone else. All you can do is work on yourself. Period.

And just from a female point of view if a man I am dating has major trust issues with me (because "I'm so hot", modeling, men pursuing me, lots of my friends are men, yada yada... ) for absolutely no reason. It is hugely unattractive and just makes a man look insecure af if he starts showing signs of trust issues and insecurity. So... don't act jealous & clingy & needy guys, you're gonna drive quality women away.

As a guy, I realized that my trust "issues" were rooted in not wanting to lose out on time/money investments in women -- which have always been a waste, I might add, since I could not find reasonable women despite my excellent judge of character with regards to friends, workmates, teammates, etc. I later realized women are not an investment, they're an expense. So my trust issues are solved, now I just put minimal to no effort in women and who cares whether or not I get laid. Be careful what you wish for, you might drive men away. :-)

"So... don't act jealous & clingy & needy guys, you're gonna drive quality women away." - you mean the women that are "modeling", "have men pursuing them", "lots of male friends", yada yada... like you? Those don't sound like quality women to me. They sound like attention-seeking psychopath candidates who are too wrapped up in their own brand of crazy to notice anything else. These are the girls that you ONLY play with. Don't trust 'em with anything (finances, emotions, etc). Don't buy 'em anything. Maybe give her cab fare and send her back to the club that spawned her... but only AFTER she's done her part.

I like watching your videos because you make a lot of sense. It doesn't hurt that you come from a different time (Yeah, I'm dating you. Raw and Delirious? Good stuff.) I can relate. I'd only be guessing how young most of your male audience is because of their mindset. They weren't raised the same way so they think very differently. They need a voice of experience. It's all been done before; maybe a little differently but not as much as they think.

I have to disagree on only one thing: Living with the [then] girlfriend can be great. My experience was superb and I miss it greatly. Cooking meals together was fun and romantic--loads of chemistry there, few beers after work, shopping and decorating together, hanging out and talking into late nights. Best part of my day was ringing the doorbell, seeing her open the door, tilt her cheek for me to kiss after a hard days' work... Miss that most of all. Never had an issue living together unlike most people. THE problem she was single mom of two and I didn't trust her with her ex coming over--later she told me he was which was unfair to me and to her kids.

BRAVO....looking for trouble will result in you ALWAYS finding it. However, saying one thing and doing another has grown to be my pet peeve. I was married for over 20 years and for many of those, I knew that he would lie occassionally (usually about how much money he had spent), but I was young and I chose to focus on other things (kids, home, his good points, ect.), and although I knew he would lie, it was never over what I then percieved to be "big things". After a build up to his mid life freak out, that ended up with loosing a 20 year business, multiple vehicles, basically a loss of all financial security we had both worked so hard for for so long. He has since gotten clean, and I had recently started letting him come hang out on weekends, but insisted if he wanted a relationship, counseling was a deal breaking necessity to address, not just the drug use, but also communication issues and the complete loss of trust. He recently texted me telling me that there was no pay off for him getting clean....that it is a hard thing to do, but he did it for me, and felt like after 3 months, I SHOULD TRUST HIM AGAIN. (After over a year of drug use and escalating daily deciet, mind you.) I don't even have to explain to a logical grown person all the things wrong with that statement, but it did clarify one very important thing for ME. The papers have been filled out for weeks, but they will be filed on Monday, and we can all TRUST THAT. ~♡~ Again, balanced and intelligent video, thoughtful responses....starting to get addicted to this channel. Good content, for sure, plus you MUST be a freaking genius, considering how much of the time you express opinions aligned perfectly with my own...lol. Great minds, I guess. ;-)

Bro its not about the distance but about personalities. I had long distance relationship for 3 years and we were fine for most of the time. I had too many possibilities to cheat on her but i didnt, because my character didnt allow me to break her heart. At the end we broke up somehow but i am completely sure there was no cheating issue about our relationship. And you know that, if someone decides to cheat, distance doesnt matter. There are women who cheat their husbands on the same bed that she sleeps every night with their husbands. So, distance doesnt matter. But i dont suggest you guys to have long distance relationship as well. There are always lack of sex, meeting, celebrations etc. In case you find really strong man/woman who can bear distance, then do. But its as hard as finding God

@@AmonEKO yup. My old bitch lived in the US and i live in Canada. We couldn't see each other from March 18th of last year due to the covid virus. I told her that I would wait for her as long as it took till it was safe to travel. The guy she told me about a few weeks ago was the guy she went with. This was a huge blessing because she showed her metal. What if i was in a coma for a year? What if I wasn't looking and hit someone when I was driving and went to jail for 2 years? She couldn't handle 10 months. Glad she showed me who she was. I did tell her the day I met her I wasn't getting married. She said that's ok....for now. As the relationship progressed to told her that i would be there for her till the end of our days and she could count on me because she passed my tests. I would give her a ceremony but would not sign a legal document. Low and behold when she called to leave she said she deserved to be married. She didn't really love me, she loved the idea of me. I told her before that I didn't want to lose the money if i had in divorce because i work in banking and i see men get raped all the time. She said she wouldn't take my money. She never said, "what is it going to take for you to marry me or trust me?" She never even brought up a prenup to compromise. Oh well. Self preservation is key. Also when i met her she was in the process of divorce and her mother is on her 5th husband. Yes 5. I figured this out the day I met them on vacation. And she treats him hot and cold. The daughter said she should treat him better and the mother said i'll just get another one. That mental system is in the daughter. They call me the bullet dodger.

@@rally_chronicles i kinda experienced the same shits. Mine wasnt about marriage. My ex was vegan and i am the best meat eater in town. When she confesses her love to me, i warned her that it would be difficult due to difference between our life style and distance. She had told me something like "thats okay, i cant promise being vegan 10 years later too" but the last time when she broke up with me, she brought this on the table as well. That i am not vegan. That shit was okay for her at the beginning, just like your ex being okay with not marrying. About your girl; you mostlikely will be grateful having her breaking up with you. As i observed, girls are not capable of loving significant other as men do. Expecting love and logical behaivors from girls are like expecting to find a virgin in a whorehouse. They mostly reach out again. Mine had reached out to me like 1 year after we broke up. But her hot-cold behaivor was something i cant bear so i told her not to write me anymore even though i still have feelings for her. In Turkey we have a saying like "look at the mom and get her daughter" which means the daughters eventually will be just as their mothers.(this quote is never wrong) in this point of view, you just rescued yourself from shit tones of problems that would mostlikely appear in the future. Go celebrate it with some double cheese burger mate. And know that the pain gets less and less by time.
