How to Deliver DoorDash on a Motorcycle

In this video I show you how you can use a motorcycle to earn money by delivering food for Door Dash. I ride a 2022 Zero FXE, it is an electric motorcycle. Any motorcyle will work, as long as it is road legal, has insurance and registration, and you have your motorcycle endorsement.

Quick tip, cut the finger and thumb off one of your gloves for the phone use. Then you’re not taking them on and off constantly. I do DD on a moto as well.

That doesn't always work so well. I feel like I lose a lot of dexterity. I wouldn't want to imagine having to fill the drinks on my own like some places make us do with gloves on.

What's the range tho? And how long do you have to wait in between charges? I've got a stock 2022 Grom, one fill up gets me 200 miles and costs about $6

@@AfricanSn0w I get 100 miles of range which lasts me all day, plug it into a regular outlet in my garage to charge at night. Costs $0.81 to charge from completely empty to full. It takes 9 hours to charge, but it works perfect for my schedule. Might not be the best option for everyone though

@@ReprintYGO 100 miles isn't a lot, I thought it would've been more. I get 78 on my ebike. But my ebike only gets up to about 36mph on throttle only.

If I need more than 100 miles I just use a different vehicle. I never have been in a scenario where I was forced to take my electric bike on a far journey. E bikes are cool too but this can go 0-60 faster than a Ferrari

Thanks, it's an awesome motorcycle. I'm sure in the next few years there will be more brands going electric and the whole electric market will get more competitively priced, making it more affordable for everyone.

Drinks are an absolute nightmare on my bike. Those side pouches can't hold large drinks at all.

Question. When doing food delivery on a motorcycle, do you wear bluetooth headphones to hear doordash alerts or your phone ring over the noise of the engine/wind/traffic?…or do you just go by visually looking at your phone constantly while riding?

There really aren't any alerts or notifications that I need to look for, and I wouldn't risk my safety for a doordash alert. If they send me another offer while I'm riding, I just ignore it as there is no punishment for refusing orders. If a customer messages me, doordash alerts them that I am driving and unable to respond at the moment.

The sign up app on doordash only lists “car” do I complete my signup by selecting “car” even though I’m going to use a motorcycle?

Some markets only have a car option. Sign up as a car and, if you get to a store and the order is too big for you to carry, just unassign the order and move on. Your completion rate will take a hit but it should be rare. *edit* typo

My motorcycle is electric, so it only costs me $0.80 per charge, each charge lasts 100 miles.

Insulated food backpack, bought on Amazon. They have many options. I went with this one because is can hold 6 drinks and it's huge

Not if you secure the food well enough. I do this on a hayabusa, and I do some hard, hard pulls to get the food there as fast as I can. I don't have spillage issues.

Yeah basically. I bring my phone into the restaurant too incase they ask for the name of the customer or the order number to verify that I'm actually the dasher.

I usually just decline the pizza orders but I have done a few orders. I can do Pizzas up to large sizes, the biggest size is the only one I can't take, so I would have to unassign the order and another Door datsher would take it. The bag can unzip all the way down to fit large size pizzas and then I just use the buckles to keep it secure.

No, the Doordash app has a floating dash widget that shows what is in an order, and if by chance I accidentally accept an order thats too big I can just unassign it.

I got that big chonker backpack that can fit xl pizzas & 8 drinks. Clunky, but worth it! I also can’t agree more about having withdraws from riding a motorcycle. It’s a good excuse to get your fix 😅

Haven't ran into this problem yet, could be because I dont keep the phone in direct sunlight longer than 10 minutes at a time due to only driving short distances, or maybe the wind helps cool it. Honestly idk 🤷‍♂️

I wouldn't really call that a motorcycle, more of a motorcycle shaped scooter really. You dont have to shift so its much easier than riding a motorcycle

OK, I own many motorcycles. Electric motors are still motors, and shifting isn't a difficult task regardless. Are cars with automatic transmissions not cars because it's "easier" ? No, that would be ridiculous. This motorcycle only costs $0.81 cents to recharge.

Finally, someone who actually has a real job and Dashes for fun. I see that’s Minnesota, and that model is new. So has it been a successful summer since you posted? I’ve had a Zero DS for five years. Anyone who sneers, like the dork earlier, has a small penis. I also have 2 Gold Wings, and as a daily driver my Zero is superior. I, too, plan to use my Zero to pay for my toys and was skeptical of DoorDash because a) scooters are for losers and b) cars are for clowns.
