Ive got a 07 rincon and its slipping in 3rd gear or thats what i think. I can throttle it and eventually hit top speed but it doesn't pull the same as 1st and 2nd. Do i have clutch problems? Another problem i have is when its cold weather it doesnt want to pull at all until it warms up but ive never taking the motor apart but this did start a while after i buried it in a water hole and had to drain the motor oil. Any advice on what to try or do would be nice. Thanks in advance!

You can also get transmission slipping if you overfill the oil level. I understand that this also requires stripping down the engine to clean the excess oil off the clutch?

I need advise mine makes a knocking noise in drive but not in reverse and increases with speed also the bike is very slow only about 25mph and it struggles on steep inclines as if im in second

My 05 680 grinds when putting it in drive and grinds so bad that I can't get it into reverse. I'm trying to explore all options before stripping it down. It sounds like like if you are trying to jam a standard transmission in gear without using the clutch.

I have a pioneer 700 that has always slipped when cold. But now it has about 9,000 miles and it shifts fine when warm except when accelerating hard, then it refuses to upshift, it just bounces off the rev limiter. If I left off of the gas some it will upshift. Any ideas? Thanks

I write this before I watched the vid. I have a good one for you. New seals, new water pump, and I still have water, pouring into the oil. The temp light came on so I decided to find and fix. Thought gaskets at first. I have had the valve head off four times w/out replacing them so it seemed like a solid thought. Still ran thru, emptying the gallon of water onto the ground in seconds. So, water pump replacement time. $350.00 smackolaas later. Not the pump. The day after I noticed the problem. Water pump got stiff and the notched piece where it connected to the motor shaft where missing. I am not positive that Is the monkey wrench, I am thinking one of chunks of hardened steel got between the crank shaft and the case in an attempted escape. I have spent a week thinking of the best way to do the job put forth. Then I searched the answer, and here is where you come in my friend. And All I wanted to find is how to remove the front drive shaft. Do you hate crap built to break as much as this 62 year old does? Where I ride "south east Utah" if it breaks out there the returning of your shoes to the bed side may never happen again. On the good side, My rinny always brought me back. 8000 miles in the seat, over some of the nastiest and unforgiving trails in the world. and with luck many more. I think I might probably perhaps make a video. Wow, I must be bored. Time to watch...

so I have a 2007 Rincon 680 it grinds in reverse fwd. no problem dealer says let it warms up should be fine but it doesn't grind when it is brought to the dealer

Could it have slipping problems if the oil level is too low?

My friend has a 680 that will not ingage when starting up even in summer, Pump? I wanted to buy a new honda and a mechanic frig this id only buy the 500cc with gears fuck the full lock

And your also not supposed to use synthetic oil or else it will wreck the engine and cause the trans to slip because the oil is not the right viscosity so you have to use a mineral blend oil meant only for atvs or use honda atv oil because the oil oils the engine and transmission and clutches at the same time
